Question about Samsung HL-T5076S 50 in. TV
TV turns on, picture and sound are great, shuts off after about 2 minutes, fans are running, 3 lights flashing on the front, bulb was changed about a month ago because the picture was getting slightly darker. Should my next step be to change the ballast?

SOURCE: turns itself off
Either lamp is failing (not covered under any warranty), or the ballast has failed. Or it may be a problem with the power supply, or even the fans... What is the picture next to the flashing light? If it's only the lamp light, then either lamp or ballast, if temp is flashing (the thermometer), it will be fans, temperature sensors, main board or power supply.

You need to eliminate the lamp door (blue) switch from the equation. Wrap the wire (blue/white) around in for the moment to lock it in an up position. Also, have a look at your lamp ballast (see picture). Look to see if the capacitor is swollen on top. If it is, change the ballast and power supply.

SOURCE: Model # HL-S6187W problem I have
This sounds like the actual power board is not pumping out enough power any more to get all components fired up and working in unison. Have you checked the voltages of all the major parts to see if any voltages look off?
