SOURCE: ink cartridge carriage HP 7410

HP has extended the warranty for some of these printers like the 7410. It's worth giving them a call. They just replaced mine without charge.

Have your serial number ready when you call HP. (800) 474-6836
Tell them you have a "broken carriage shute and print cartridge rejection".

Printing too much ink

Return Cartridge. To much ink indicates a bad seal on the cartridge. Or you have a defective circuit board on the printer. I beleive it is a bad cartridge. Captain Jack

Loaded cartridge, but the printer still says load right side

There may be some ink covering the circuit pads on either the ink cartridge or the flexible circuit board that makes contact to those small gold pads on the ink cartridge. I have been able to get cartridges to work by cleaning both the pads on the flexible circuit in the printer and the ink cartridge very carefully with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Brother DCP-130C display showing change ink cartridges ,i have twice and still fault showing

Hi,

Then the problem most likely is a shorted-circuit board just behind the ink cartridges. Its a known problem with the generic inks, that they tend to leak inside the unit and short out the board.

The circuit board will need to be replaced, estimated cost with parts and labor about $100.00

If you have any more questions, please feel free to comment, and please rate this solution.

Thank You
Adi

It will not print. It has new ink cartridges..There are no error messages. Print heads have been cleand several times. It will not print a test pattern. It will not make a copy. Only blank paper comes out.

Head cleaning is mechanical process, printing is electrical process. Nothing print out at all? Printer mainboard problem. Lost electrical to head. Usually caused by short circuit at head. Track on aicaxz solution for reference to repair board. Note: if you have experience in electrical circuit, test mounted fuse at board.

After changing empty cartridges, the printer is still not printing..reading as if there are empty ink cartridges.

hi..
Open printer case. Pull out the outlet pipe of head cleaning. Do head clenaing procedure. Is there ink out from outlet? If yes, so head is not clog. If it's still nothing at output, problem with board or short circuit at head. It's hard to repair...

"set ink cartridge" message won't allow me to print

You may need a new carriage assembly, with the ink removed, with a mirror you can see down in front where the ink cart. circuit board contacts the carriage. Each slot should have 4 gold wires all of them straight. Bent ones can be straightened carefully, any missing, you'll need a new carriage assembly, a shop repair.

Repair damaged circuitry to black ink cartridge

the ribbon i sprinted on a flex. it is non-repairable.
if you want. get some of the older ribbon (used for the IDE hard drive). but you need to unsolder the connecting connector and solder the ribbon directly to the ckt board. not a easy task, specially the components and feed through is getting smaller.

Cartridge? problem

If you are using or have used third party generic ink cartridges or refilled ink cartridges, the Cartridge Sensor printed circuit board may have been damaged. We have found that some third party generic ink cartridges leak onto the ink cartridge sensor circuit board causing an electrical short of the ink cartridge sensors. The damage from the leaked ink results in the machine displaying NO CARTRIDGE because the machine will no longer recognize the installed ink cartridge(s). Genuine Brother ink cartridges do not cause this issue because of the unique design developed to fit specifically in the Brother products. As long as a Brother cartridge has not been refilled, the Brother cartridge will not leak.

Hp psc 2410xi photosmart all-in-one printer.

Here's what I found when this happend on my two 7410's. Take a look at where the ink cartridge slides into it's holder. Shine a flashlight on the circuit board at the rear. You will no doubt find it has a puncture in it that breaks the little tracer wires on the board. The culpret is the tension spring arm. It likely has come off it's base support and when that happens, and you install a new cartridge, the cartridge will push the tip of the tension wire g right into the circuit board. After you fix the circuit board, apply some silicone glue to the spring base mount to hold it in place.

Does not accept black ink cartridges

Did you use generic ink? These generic carts are different (no seal to prevent staining). This carts stain the led control circuit board which has to be replaced by a new one (the spare part is only avaiable as the whole ink cart holder incl. led board and tubes).

There is no way to do a short fix, sorry!
