Make sure the hollowed out part of the eye is facing the bobbin hook. If the needle is set propperly then the machine may be out of time. Refer to owner's manual to reset.

It could be that there is a loose piece of thread, or some fluff which is obstructing the tension gauge. Try blowing around the theading area (or even run the hoover pipe near it to see if you can **** it out). I cleared mine by folding a piece of non fluffy material and rubbing gently between the tension dial and machine.

Good luck

SOURCE: My Bernette Deco 600 is not picking up the bobbin thread

At the very worst you may need to retime the machine if you have already checked that the needle is in the correct way round and is a good one, I can attach timing instructions if you email me drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk

sounds more like top tension device is faulting, can you clean between the tension discs? if you can get to them turn tension to zero and floss between discs with selvage edge of clean cotton fabric scrap. thread dye particles and lint will build up in there. timing off usually presents as the stitches not being made at all. always raise presser foot when threading up too. if top tension looks like it is not working correctly consider getting a service and clean done, should be done at least biannually.

Could you please let me know how you got this resolved. I just got this same machine and I am wondering the same thing...it just stopped picking up the bobbin and I have never really looked at it before that but the bobbin does not spin as well

Is the bobbin supposed to move on the Bernette Deco 600?

The bobbin will move only when the thread is being pulled. The problem with your machine is that the timing has missed aligned. It will need service. 99% of all sewing machine misalign due to continued use.

Deco machine will not pick up bottom threat

try changing the needle--make sure the needle is the correct
one for the fabric being sewed

try rethread the machine top & bobbin--use every thread guide

clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint

it's also possible that the timing needs to be checked at a sewing
machine shop

I have the Deco 600 and it's a workhorse! I love the machine. I just had it serviced and now when I embroidery and use white bobbin thread it shows on top. I have tried adjusting the tension like the...

I have a 600 also...have you changed brand of white thread? Sometimes it can be the design you are embroidering that will bring bobbin thread to the top. I use the prewound bobbins--very thin thread & tightly wound.

My Bernette Deco 600 is not picking up the bobbin thread. I have cleaned the machine and retreaded many times. The sensor thinks there is no tread on the bobbin. What can I do to resolve this problem?
