Question about Zanussi ZBF360X Electric Single Oven
The oven heats up but does not stop heating up when the temperature is reached it not only burns the food but it has melted a silicone tray what could the problem be? Could it be a thermostat and if so is it easy to fit?
It sounds like a temp sensor, or thermostat...both are easy to change.

SOURCE: zanussi electric oven.
The problem is usually a contactor or relay. The thermostat usually doesn't directly control the elements. Follow the wiring diagram or look at the wires from the thermostat. they usually go to a small box and then to the elements The contacts may sometimes stick or always stick. This part is a lot cheaper than the thermostat. Another problem is a burned out element. (Usually the bake element) This can short to ground and not let it turn off. When the elements are on they should glow evenly all over with no hot spots. Look at the broil element also. It is usually at least part way on during baking.

From symptons, I would say the fan oven element is faulty, more so if the fan is working. Remove inner rear panel of oven and see if element gets warm, let it run for a minute, switch off and feel if element is warm, if not, then replace.the element.
Plz rate this solution.

If oven is getting hot , but not hot enough, then the thermostat is probably faulty.if no heat at all, then you need to replace the oven element.
