As a safety precaution, nailers have incorporated a safety foot that will prevent the gun from firing unless you push down hard. Some guns also have a system where the gun will not fire at all if there are no nails in the gun. To dry fire this type of gun you must pull back the pusher or open the side door. If nails do not feed properly, check for wrong nails, bent rails or weak pusher spring. If all is good with rails and pusher, suspect that the driver/piston is not at top of cylinder and lower part of driver blade is preventing nails from advancing. Remove airline and push the driver to top and retest. If driver is slipping down the cylinder under its own weight, replace oring. Good luck
Assuming that the gun will not jam with nails removed and the driver returns to top of cylinder when fired without nails. If the driver is bent the nailer will jam without nails. Jamming is usualy caused by bent driver, driver tip worn (not square), or wrong nails. If the driver is not bent and the tip is square, suspect wrong nails. Easy test. Place a strip of nails on outside of rails with the nail heads aligned with top of rail. Move the strip of nails toward the nose if gun. With the heads aligned with the top of the rail, the first nail should align with the path of the driver. If the first nail does not align with the path of the driver and the head is angled slightly away from the path of the driver, the driver may strike the shaft of the first nail pushing the nails back into the rails. If the head of the first nail is forward with the nail shaft angled back away, the nail will flip causing jam. The first nail should align with the path of the driver to prevent jam. It is difficult to find perfectly made nails that align correctly. But certainly check the nails with test mentioned above with every new box for accuracy. You might find that you will need to change brands to get a good fit. Good luck.
That's usually easier to do if you remove one side rail. There are usually six access holes in the rail that the screws go into. (pretty sure the screws are torx type) Once the rail is off, you can easily attach the cross bars and re-attach the rail to the roof. Ends of cross bars are held on with a screw that goes in from the bottom side. When replacing roof screws it is good to put a dab of silicone sealer on each screw hole to prevent rust or leaks.
I have the same vehicle and was able to remove mine with the following steps:
1) remove light behind each rear of luggage rack rail using phillips screwdriver (one screw each side).
2) remove molding underneath each light using T20 torx driver (2 screws each side).
3) Loosen cross rails nobs.
4) Side cross rails off of roof.
I also have the same crib.
I didn't have the manual but you just remove the side nails from the front part (two each side) and the front part will release with a few movements.
I also that the problem to find the toddler rail (the small one) do you find something yet?
I called Target (where I bought it) and they said that they don't sell it anymore. They give a phone number that is in Taiwan. I'm having a real trouble to find the rail to convert the crib to a toddler bed. My little daughter already fell from the crib and she had a broken arm.
Install Safety Rails
Mattress support must be in lowest postition
Remove the Front Panel Contoured Top rail and Front Panel
Loosen connector pieces on the end of the leg of the Safety Rail to the End Leg using two of the Allen Bolts (11/2 in). Loosely attach the leg of the Safety Rail to the underside of the Mattress Support using one of the short Allen Bolts (3/4 in) through connectors. Tighten all three of the bolts holding the safety rail to the unit.
Repeat procedure with the other safety rail.
These are the instructions in the manual. Basically, you take off the front cross board and rail, attach the safety rails to each of the front legs. They kind of go 1/3 of the way across the front with about a 1 1/2 foot opening in the center.
honest answer: take super heavy duty zip ties and tie the drop side in place in like 8 places to be sure it will stay put.
i did it with my crib to be safe when simplicity recalled theirs for rail issues, i would start with trying to get a hold of a person st simplicity for children your crib may be one of the ones recalled for rail failure issues then they would send you parts free
they should also be able to help you find out if the crib is theirs or not too
you should under the crib for a sticker with numbers, usually the model number / serial number and date of manufacture if you come up with a model number type it into a search engine online if manufacture name not on that label to find out who makes it, then contact them for pieces
Hi, I know it looks hard but It's really simple .just take out the screws that are on each side on the bottom and top 1 on the top and one on the bottom each side( 4 in total )(Sides not on the front) and that's it, the front part comes off and you save it for when you make the bed a full size bed wich that part becomes the foot board. Hope this information helps! Good luck!!
