Question about Kenmore Ovens

1 Answer

Oven temp doesn't stay constant

The oven temp will come up but then it will drop and the elements will shut off. I am wondering if it is the thermocouple that is intermittently bad. We hit the cancel button and reset the temp and sometimes it starts to work again, but not always. I have also had a problem with the display on the oven going out and found that their is a connection problem. I have moved the wires to a certain position and then it seems to stay on. Lately the display has been going off again and so I don't know if this is part of the problem or not. I still have the problem though when the display is working OK. My oven/stove is about 20 years old.

Your clock/timer control board controls the oven. the switches control the top. if connects were a problem until you moved them to a certain position then replace ends. but your problem with the temp. is gonna be fixed by replacing your control board.

GE Built In Wall oven JTP25SOH6SS wont completely shut off

The cooling fan will stay on for a long time after using the oven. It should shut off after a while. If it is running all night for instance there is a great possibility that a relay is stuck on the control board.

I have a whirlpool accubake duo, super capacity 465 and when I try to bake something the oven wont stay on...how do I get the oven to stay on

What do you mean that it wont stay on? Does it turn off and on during cooking? Does it just go off and wont come back on? The oven thermostat regulates the heat in the oven and the oven element and the oven indicator light will turn off and on during cooking. If it stayed on constantly on full oven element power everything would burn.

Frigidaire gas oven, 5 years old, oven pre-heat light comes on and stays on, oven gets warm but not up to temp (it was like this for about an hour), also smell gas when oven door is opened. Burners work...

I don't have a solution, but I was wondering if it constantly beeps until you press the start button? I am having the same problem with my oven preheating. Until we can figure out how to stop this we unplug it and shut the gas off when not in use.

Oven does not maintain temperature (see theglowing element) and fire, but not at the constant high temp. for a turkey, roast, etc.

THIS COULD BE SEVERAL THINGS,IF YOU SEE THE IGNITOR ON FOR SOME TIME AND THERE IS NO FIRE THE IGNITOR IS POSSABLY THE WEAK LINK.IF THE OVEN TEMP IS LOW AND IT SHUTS OFF (THE IGNITOR) YOU MAY HAVE A BAD SENSOR OR MAIN PCB. IF THE TEMPERATURE IS OFF BY WITHIN 35 DEGRIES YOU CAN ADJUST IT (CHECK YOUR BOOK)

Oven on RF263LXTT2 does not maintain a constant heat. Oven heats, but doesn't seem to continue heating at a constant heat during the baking process. Both coils heat up during the preheat. Seems like once...

The problem looks like a faulty electronic control. When you select baking, the broiling element should not come up.

Before replacing control assembly, test the temp probe located inside the cavity, check the wiring harness to temp probe and elements, and ensure that the fan is working if the oven is fan assisted.
