Make sure the device is unplugged from the 240 VAC power source.
Connect the 240 VAC line and neutral wires to the momentary switch. Examine the motor wires to determine line and neutral.
This log splitter is equipped with a control system that requires to be operated by both hands of the user - Left hand controls the
hydraulic control lever while right hand controls the pushbutton
switch. The log splitter will freeze upon absence of either hand. Only
after both hands release the controls, the log pusher starts to return
backward to the starting position.

Log splitter won't return to start position

well it's a complete guess due to fact you didn't mention model or mfg or even a photo , but most log splitters have a auto return tripper device this should activate ,either a switch or hydraulic lever to reverse the flow of oil from the cylinder after a log is split , some models even use large springs to force the cylinder back into its sleeve after it extends out , I guess springs could break ? this would be easy to clearly see with a close visual inspection

Need only the Piston Seal for McCulloch Woodmate 1 log splitter. Model # 400057B Serial# 11-016227

how do you know you need the piston seal. mine also will not build pressure, I think it is the valve assembly that is under the piston. IF you find parts please let me know source. I do not understand why people above posted about the manual. you clearly are not looking for a manual.

Video splitters

I don\'t know about your specific brand, but splitters have losses that are typically 3.5,6, 7.5 and 11 for 2,3,4 and 8 way.

In most cable modem applications, we use a single 2-way so that the cable modem has only a minimum loss, then the TV\'s get put on the other side of the 2-way and split as many times as needed.

Here\'s a link to a typical splitter manufacturer where you can see the printed insertion loss of the various splitters.
