My Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 Sewing Machine Touch Screen is not responding, Touch Screen just not working, Touch Screen is maybe cracked, can it be replaced ?

Touch screen on a Designer 1 may not be responding due to a number or reasons. Here are some possibilities:
1. A Designer 1 screen will 'go to sleep' when not used. The length of time of 'no use' is set in the preferences. Shut off the machine and see if screen is active.
2. The 'sleep mode' may have been accidentally reset by going into the 'technical menu'. Technical menu can only be accessed by depressing a number of buttons in a specific sequence which is not revealed to consumers, but if you were 'playing' around with buttons, the technical menu may have been accessed and changed the 'no use' time or 'dormant' setting. Go to your dealer, or a reputable Husqvarna Viking dealer, who will be able to check this out on the spot (if they are really a qualified dealership).
3. Mechanically a number of factors may have caused the black screen, if neither of the above are the solution. These can be: disconnected screen cable, circuit board malfunction, or as you are suspecting ... a cracked screen. If you can see a 'scratch' like mark on the screen, it is most likely the cause of your problems. Yes, all of these are fixable by a qualified technician.

I'm not sure I understand the problem exactly. It sounds like you touch pad is not responding properly. Did you notice before this happened that you needed to touch the screen not exactly where the button on the screen comes up. If that is the issue your best bet is to have a husqvarna Viking tech and have the touch screen calibrated.

How to open fixed screen? on Designer 1


I would check the Touch Screen first. Your Owner's Manual tells you how to calibrate the touch screen from the SET menu. However if the touch screen isn't working, you can't get to the SET menu. Suggest taking it to an authorized Viking Dealer and they would be able to quickly determine the solution. You can find the nearest dealer by going to the Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us website and click on 'Locate a Dealer'.

My husqvarna designer 1 keypad doesnt work


It could be the Touch Screen. If it is a Designer 1. If it is a Designer II or Quilt Designer or #1 it could be the Dcard. Recommend it be checked by an Authorized Viking Dealer. Viking designer 1 screen crack can't use touch screen sensor not working due to crack. can it be repair and how much would it cause me.


The touch screen can be replaced. The part is a little under $200 and the labor cost will vary with the repair facility that you use.

You can have replacement discs ordered from Husqvarna Viking. Visit an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for them to order the replacement discs. However, you might luck out and they have some already on hand from a scrapped machine or a trade-in. You can find your nearest dealer by visiting the Husqvarna Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com and clicking on dealer link down the left side of the page.

Am trying to change from light weight knit fabric on machine to light weight woven.push screen and it won't change . designer viking 1


Hi,
It sounds like the screen has lost calibration. If you can get into "set" touch more until you see color touch screen adjust, then click on it. Click in the middle crosshairs next to the one, it should make a "click" and change colors, after that, do it to the crosshair next to the 2. touch "save". If you can't get the crosshairs to respond to your touchtry cleaning the entire machine and the screen with a static remover spray (NEVER SPRAY SCREEN DIRECTLY) spray your clean cotton cloth( eyeglass rag is awesome here) and wipe the machine down, then try again until successful. The company reccommends using a touch stylus in place of your finger to eliminate the transfer of static electricity to your machine

I have a viking sewing machine designer 1. The touch screen is dark and there is nothing on the screen. What needs to be done?


You can try running the latest update on the machine. I have heard of a person turning their machine off in the middle of an update and this is what it did.
You don't have to be able to see the screen to install the update, and it's free to try.

Next, if this doesn't work, go to an authorized service center.
