There Is no "rust repair" procedure. Only way to get rid of rust is to replace panel. If you bondo or mud over rusted areas rust will over time come around and bubble around body work. Save time and money and replace the panel with new or aftermarket.

Looking to buy a 1968 VW beetle. Has some rust around the lights . But that is most major issue. What should I pay?

What you should pay depends entirely on the mileage, mechanical condition, body work condition and interior condition of the car.

Be very careful buying a car like that and having a professional mechanical and body work inspection done on it before you buy.

The rust around the headlights is very bad and there will likely be other bad rust in the vehicle you cannot see. It is important to get the car up on a hoist/lift so you can inspect the underside of the vehicle.

Just repairing the front fenders to remove the rust and repaint will be expensive to do properly so never under estimate how much you will need to spend to fix rust issues. There is bound to be other rust in the body work you have not found yet and, as mentioned, it is imperative to inspect the underside of the car thoroughly.

97 voyager frame rail rotting out

a good sign to junk it as the repair will be expensive to carry out . The rocker panel (frame rail ) is an integral part of the body and is responsible for the body integrity especially in an accident. If one side is rusted out then the body shell that it is a part of will be rusted as well as the other side Before repairing have the body inspected so that you will be able to cost repairs against another vehicle.

Were can I get my trunk fixed, it won't latch? 96

Any repair shop (body shop or auto repair shop) should be able to handle trunk repair. You may want to look through your local yellow pages. Have you tried spraying a lubricant into the latch assembly, sometimes it help to lube it and use a screw driver to flip latch/lock to locked position and then release with key or trunk release button several times. Rust is prone to jam locks and latches. Most local auto parts stores carry these latches in stock, and it is relatively easy to change out. Let me know if you need further help.

The shock tower is badly rusted and I have been told it is a safety concern and is irreparable. Is this true?

It's true that it could be a safety concern depending on the amount of rust damage. It is repairable. Any competent welder or body shop should have little difficulty in making the necessary repairs to ensure that your van is safe and fit to be on the road. You may even be able to get a repalcement panel at your local auto parts store. Make some calls and get some quotes before you put your money on the table and stick with someone who welds for a living. This is NOT a repair for your local part time backyard welder. Hope this helps.
