To change the Boot order, you'll have to get into the BIOS.
If you are not competent to do this, seek advice.

I need a new netowork adapter in Gateway GT5674

All over the place. What you need is a PCI Ethernet Card,

Gateway Support > GT5674 Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/s/PC/R/1015322R/1015322Rnv.shtml

In the list click on Components.
Scroll down to the bold black subheading - Motherboards
Click on the blue -
4006254R - ECS MCP61PM - GM AM2 mATX Motherboard

Main top view of your motherboard, and as you will see it in your computer.
View the long White PCI expansion slot. Indicated by the letter R.
Also view the two shorter white expansion slots, indicated by the letter Q.

These two are PCI -Express x1 expansion slots.

IF, the PCI slot is occupied, you can use a PCI-Express x1 slot, if available.

The long white PCI slot uses a PCI Ethernet Card.
One example,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=763637&CatId=1175

If it is PCI-Express x1 slot you have available, use an example like this, a PCI-Express x1 Ethernet Card,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2543350&CatId=2380

The long Black connector, above the shorter white PCI-Express x1 slots, is a PCI-Express x16 connector.

It is ONLY used for a graphics card.

Cant see anything on the screen

See my publised guide entitled:
My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

Yes some-times it can be an easy fix, hopefully it's a loose connection.

Aso make sure that the monitor is pluged into a horrizontal port on the rear of the computer chassis if one is present. In other words connect the monitor to the graphics card if one is installed.

Take care!

How do you enable the pci express slot on gateway gt5674

OK, for this issue, we will start with a basic fix for this issue regarding a Windows XP Machine.

1.Navigate to and click the Start menu.

2.Find "My Computer" and right click on it. If this is not in your start menu, check the desktop, the icon should be there.

3.Select "Manage" and the Computer Management pane will open

4.Click on "Device Manager" to expand the installed devices on your machine.

5.Locate the PCI Express Slot in the list and right click on it. (You may need to expand "PCI Express Adapters" or similar to view the card.

6.Select "Enable" and the card should be good to go.

If you see a Red X through the listed controller, it needs to be installed with the proper drivers. This model Gateway drivers can be found at the following link.

Possible bad power supply. Either purchase a new one, or take it to a local computer repair shop and have them test your old one for you. If that does not fix the problem, the possible bad RAM, motherboard, CPU, power switch.

I remeber that feeling ... Here's the link to gateways' manuals for your computer..I would download all three of them , make sure you download them to your desktop so you can find them easy. you may also need to install adobe reader (free) to veiw these. There is a link to download the reader right below the manual downloads.
