What might stop electrical slow?

Hello, Vickie
Your machine does not turn on AND you have (or had) calcium deposits in the reservoir valve so, my best guess is:
First the calcium deposits blocked water from going into the heating unit.
Then, the heating unit over-heated and the thermal fuse opened to prevent a fire.
So, you may have to replace the thermal fuse.

This will require disassembly to access the water heating module, locating of the thermal fuse, reading the fuse information from the spent fuse, locating a source for a replacement fuse...etc. Thermal fuses cost about $2 at electronic supply outlets.

I have a Single Serve Brewing System SS-700 from Cuisinart. I seem to have lost the manual. Does anyone know how to properly clean this machine?

I was able to find you an online copy of the manual for this particular product:

Ss-700 keeps flashin Not Ready

I had the flashing not ready problem with my SS-700 Cuisinart as well. I pressed and held the rinse and Hot Water buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds while the Not Ready was flashing. After 10 sec or so the display went off completely. I then powered up with the power switch on the side and the coffee maker came and is working fine so far.
