Clean out the projector with canned air. if it still happens, you'll need to replace the power supply.

It stays on for 15 or 20 mins then light goes out but sound still plays with light out, then 4mins later it comes back on

Sounds likely that the projector is overheating. Try removing and carefully cleaning the filters over the air inlets. Carefully washing them in warm water and squeezing dry is usually satisfactory, but DO NOT replace in the projector and turn on until the filters have had at least 10 - 12 hours to thoroughly dry out.

Make sure filters are cleaned. Use a vacuum so you don't spread dust around inside your projector. Make sure the projector can "breathe"; has room around it.

The projector keeps overheating and shutting off. It'll be on for maybe an hour, and then it dies. Then we wait, turn it back on again, and it dies five-ten minutes later. There's a fan pointed at it,...

Check to see if there are any filters that can be cleaned. They are slim and hard to see sometimes but they would be in certain places where air flows into the projector, possibly on the sides or bottom. Remove the filter and blow on it to remove all the dust.

clean it out with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. you may need to replace the temp sensor, as the constant heat may have weakened the sensor.

Yes, it is the projector.
Take the filter out and vaccum it, take the lamp out and use compressed air to clean the dust away.
Be carefull witt the air thoug! keep it a bit away from the projector when u cleand the dust away, to close and you can make big mamages inside it.
And, remeber to keep the filter as cleas as possible, i clean min every 2,5-3 monthes.

Good luck

ALSO CHECK YOUR FAN. IF THE FAN OR A HEAT SINK IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY (I.E. THE FAN MAY JUST NEED TO BE CLEANED OR REPLACED, THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL HEAT SINK. IF CLOUDED W/DUST, IT WILL KEEP THE OPERATION SHORT). ALSO CHECK IF YOU HAVE SET ANY TEMPERATURE SHUTDOWN PARAMETERS. IF YOUR LAMP HEATS UP FOR SO LONG AND REACHES A TEMPERATURE THAT WILL AFFECT THE CIRCUITS, THIS OF COURSE WILL SHUT DOWN YOUR UNIT UNEXPECTEDLY. HOPE THIS HELPS...JGUAM

Infocus Lp290 Will not stay on.

Check the area around the fan and make sure you have good airflow. Put a small fan near the unit and direct the air flow so it cools it and let us know.
