if there are no additional speaker jacks on the back of the receiver, then no; at least, not easily.

What ohm are the speakers?

Can you have just 2 channel by hooking up to right & left front speaker posts on 5.1 surround

short answer.....no. If you hook more than one speaker up to a single channel, it will lower the impedence and will damage the amp. You can hook up multiple speakers by using a speaker switch box between the speakers and the amp. This will match the impedence and should keep the amp from blowing.

It says frequency response as 40 Hz to 170 Hz (Subwoofer) and 200 Hz to 20 KHz (Satellite speaker). How it will manage frequency from 170 Hz to 200 Hz. Will this be affected

The sub-woofer will handle a frequency of 40Hz to 170Hz of the sound spectrum, and the satellite will handle 200Hz to 20KHz. There is frequency hollow that is, 170Hz to 200Hz; and it is not quite audible and noticeable to human ear. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

How to hook up Panasonic SB PM19 speakers to SA-PM23 reciever

yes you can. these are called "bi wired" speakers which means there's a hook up for the woofer and the tweeter individually. If your amp have just 2 speaker hookups it's no problem to hook the woofer/tweeter wires of each speaker together. If your amp had 4 speaker hookups, you could put the tweeters in 1 and the woofers in the other but it will still work fine with 2 speaker hookups.

I have a JVC Receiver that I'm trying to hook a

"[A] set of Sony Speakers" is meaningless. What model(s)? If they're part of an all-in-one system they may not be suitable for the JVC.

Manuals exist for everything. Read them.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/JVC-RX-5052S-Receivers-manual/id/315ci175/t/2/

This receiver is designed for standard commonly available 8-ohm (nominal) speakers that connect with common stripped end lamp cord or speaker wire.

Can we use the subwoofer as an amplifier for speakers? it has jacks for speaker in/out, but i can't figure out how to make it work because the speakers have no sound.

I don't believe this hookup is amplified; but, if you have used the regular unfiltered speaker connections from your receiver/amplifier to hookup the subwoofer, the system will pass the signal thru the outputs subject to the crossover adjustment on the back panel. You cannot get the full signal if your system is sending only the bass signal to the subwoofer. I have copied the instructions below from the manual. You would set the high freq crossover to the low end of your satellite's frequency range. The full manual is here: http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/Products/Pages/ProductSupportDetails.aspx?PID=PSW-D110

High-Pass Control
• If you hooked up your subwoofer
as shown in Hookup
3 on page 4, you also have
the capability of adjusting
the high-pass frequency.
The High-Pass control
determines the frequency at
which the main speakers
will start reproducing
sounds. If your main speakers
can comfortably reproduce
some low-frequency
sounds, also set this control
to a lower frequency
setting, between 50Hz –
100Hz. This will concentrate
the subwoofer’s
efforts to the ultradeep
bass sounds, while your
main speakers continue to
reproduce the mid-bass
information. If you are
using smaller bookshelf
speakers that do not extend
to the lower bass frequencies,
set the high-pass crossover
control to a higher setting,
between 125Hz – 180Hz.
With this setting, your main
speakers will not have the
burden of reproducing any
low-frequency sounds.
• If you hooked up your subwoofer
as shown in Hookup
1 on page 3, the high-pass
frequency is fixed at 180Hz.
• If you hooked up your subwoofer
as shown in Hookup
2 on page 4, there is no
high-pass control. Unless
your receiver/amplifier
incorporates a high-pass
crossover, your main speakers
will continue to get a
full-range signal.
Final adjustment and blending
of the low-pass and high-pass
controls may evolve over several
listening sessions. A good
starting point would be to set
both the low- and high-pass
controls to the same frequency
and adjust from that point.

How to hook up speakders?

The monitor does not have output sound since it is only an input device. You will have to hookup the speakers to your device (laptop, computer, gaming console) that you are connecting to the monitor. The speakers in the monitor are ready to receive a signal so that it can amplify it and let you hear it. If you hookup your speakers to the monitor it is the same as if you were trying to hookup two sets of speakers to each other.

Hi...
Without a huge mess, I would suggest one of the multi-speaker selectors that partsexpress.com sells or a similar item.
Just put "speaker slector" in their search engine.

If youre going to 8 other rooms..you might try a couple of wireless speaker systems too. They work in stereo and ....no wires

Need a diagram to hook my Bose CinemaT speakers. When I hook it directly to the tv no problem but can't figure out how to hookup my reciever and CD player to work also? Help Please

You'd be better off hooking the speakers to the RECEIVER'S speaker outputs, THEN hooking your TV audio output to an unused receiver input, such as AUX. The signals from your receiver cannot reach the TV; thus your CD player and radio will not play through the speakers if the speakers are hooked to the TV. All receiver INPUTS are designed to accept the same signal level; thus, you can use any input for your TV audio, such as Aux, DVD, CD, etc. Just remember which input you're using for the TV audio, and everything should work fine. Almost all receivers have an AUX input; hopefully yours also has a dedicated CD input to avoid confusion. The you simply select the AUX input to hear your TV through the speakers.

consult your tv manual, if your tv have a "speaker out" on the back then you can hookup your speaker directly but if your tv only have an "audio out" you can only hook this up to "audio in" of your audio system.
