Question about Acer NSK8458AN Keyboard

1 Answer

The left side of my keyboard works fine (qwerty) but the left hand side of my keyboard (uiop) come in scrambled. I attached a Microsoft keyboard to the USB port and the USB attached keyboard works fine (actually, the problem seemed to start when I first attached it) but the computer's keyboard still does not work. The regional language is set to "English." I will continue to use the new keyboard but the problem seriously limits the portability of the new micro laptop.

You can try uninstalling the keyboard in the device manager and then restarting the computer.

Also you could try booting into Safe Mode with Command Prompt too see if the keyboard works normally.

Let me know.

How do I access the @ button on a siemens Fujitsu ms2228 please?

Hi there
Your siemens Fujitsu ms2228 has a 'qwerty' keyboard. Look down the left hand side of keyboard to the button which says caps lock. To the right of the button you will see the alphabetical letter A, followed by S,,D,F,G,H,J,K,L, ; '@. To achieve what you require, press the shift button on the left hand side, plus hold down and at the same time press@ and you have solved your problem. I hope this has been of some help to you.

Please can some help, half of my keyboard is writing numbers instead of letters. qwerty are ok uiop come out as 456- how do l fix this problem.

Sounds as if you have some sort of function lock turned on. Look around at your CapsLock, Numlock, Function Lock lights and see if indeed your function lock is on. I bet you have numbers printed in blue on the sides of your keys.

Keyboards are cheap- thats what I would do first, just to narrow it down. Get a new keyboard for about 10-15-20 bucks-plug it in, any change?

If it fixes it, throw out your old keyboard. If it DOESN'T fix it, you can return the new keyboard and get your money back. Then you will KNOW it is software in the computer, or maybe a USB/driver.

Hope this helps.

Take the computer to a qualified technician, who can replace the keyboard, as the least-expensive "try" at trouble-shooting.

Since a keyboard transmits "codes" to the motherboard,
e.g., left-shift-has-been-pressed, and left-shift-has-been-released,
and the motherboard interprets those codes, it is NOT likely that
the motherboard is misinterpreting the codes, especially given that
the "bad' letters are in a straight line on your keyboard.

Find an external USB keyboard, and plug it in.
If it works correctly in the first 15 minutes, then the problem is NOT the motherboard.

Qwer and uiop keys not working on a dell inspiron laptop. i don't have access to the laptop. i purchased it for my daughter who is away at college. Any suggestions/solutions? Thanks.

Keyboard is more than likely bad. Call dell or your local PC shop to get it replaced. If it is still under warranty Dell will send you a keyboard to replace it with. If you take it to a local PC shop tell them if it is under warranty

Keys don't work at all

Make sure the wireless is working fine and has good batteries in them. Try reinstalling it and see if all lights go on the keyboard. If not there might be an interferance in the system and the keys are not computing well. Try number lock and caps lock
