Question about Numark TT1520 Turntable
Pwer works. makes sound if i turn the plate manually, but the motor won't move the turntable in any speed 33 nor 45.
You certainly can replace the drive IC as mentioned above, however there may be dozens of other items that can cause the same issue. Here are some; bad regulator ICs, pull down resistors for the power supply or the drive IC, capacitors in the regulated power supply.....the list goes on and on. You most definitely must take ESD precautions(Electrostatic Discharge). Without taking these precautions, you may destroy the parts you are replacing, before you even put them in! You must be able to perform fine soldering to replace any of these parts.

SOURCE: HOW DO FIX MY NUMARK TTX MOTOR?
if you know how to solder its most likely the toshiba chip under the heat sink, here is more in depth, i wrote this up about 3 to 4 years ago
Ciscoel Nino - "since numark fixed thier overheating problems by adding avent under the platter, i think that what is happeing is that our DCMOTOR DRIVER IC (Toshiba TA7259P) has gone bad what i am going to do itorder this, install it and let you know the deal. there only 5.80 apiece and shipping is like 8 dollars. ill get back to you. I amguessing it is sort of like computers CPU, like its got thermal gel/grease on it and all that fun stuff. It is on the Motor's board heres the image
after i install it too, i am also going to cut vents like this under my platter like the updated versions
also take your time when installing the chip.
1. its sensitive to static.
2.buy a low heat soldering iron.
3.do each solder point at a time, wait a few seconds for the IC to cool off. then approach the next.
also open your ttx and see what exact IC you need. Mine was a Toshiba TA7259P. Also when you order that, order small tube of thermal paste.

Your belt is probably worn and needs replacing. Lift felt on platter and and lift the platter section off the unit by putting your thumb and forefinger through the two large holes and pull upwards. There should not be any special routing for the belt and should go directly onto the spindle motor to your platter. Place the belt around the inside rim of the platter while it is still off the unit. Now replace the platter and move the platter around until you see the spindle motor through one of the holes. Use some tweezers to manouvre the belt onto the spindle motor. On some units you will have to lay the belt out inside the unit, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platter. Hope this helps

you can use any type of software such as VDJ Traktor or Serato as long as you have timecoded vinyl and a external sound card like scratch live of the maya 44usb or native instruments 2 4 8 10 will work .
