PS3 stopped during play, now won't stay on.

PS3 turned off during play. On trying to turn it back on, the green on light comes on for a second and then goes off. Appliance was dusty, so have cleaned it and disconnected it overnight but no change.

Press and Hold your PS3 power button for at least 6 seconds and see if it beeps twice.... Make sure you have your composite jacks(Red, White, Yellow) hooked up to your PS3 and TV in order to see diplay and hear sound.
This will reset your PS3, but you will still keep all your data!

I'm afraid you have gotten the Yellow Light of Death ( YLOD ) you will need to have your PS3 repaired by a technician or you can Google YLOD and you will find a repair guide.

if your tv still works there is a good chance that your ps3 just shorted out if you play when there are storms get a circuit breaker

Read this very carefully. Turn off your ps3 from the back. Then turn it back on wait unit the light is red. Turn on the system through the front keep holding the power on. You will hear a beep one time that just tell you that the ps3 is powering on keep holding the button until you hear the second beep this will rest your video setting. If that dosnt work call me at sony

It may actually be that your power box has failed or died. If so than you cant do anything really.Sorry.
