SOURCE: SpotBot: Brushed do not rotate

I had the same problem everything worked except the brushes wouldn't move. I took the top off and tested the leads to the motor and it wasn't getting any power. So I took the power board out and traced it to a large ceramic 5 watt 1.5 ohm resistor right in the middle of the board. I got a replacement resistor from a local electronic store and soldered it in. So for less than a dollar its working perfectly again. Also I put some electical tape over the speaker to quiet it down. It seems funny to have a very very loud beep to tell you when a very loud machine is done.

On my spotbot, the power light is on, but the only thing that works is the hose button.

Unhook the brush to the hose and make sure the hose is SECURLY attached to where it goes on the spot bot. Unplug, rep plug and I hope that works!

Clean bissell spot bot brush

NONE of these answers apply to the question! The asker referred to the Bissell SPOTBOT, which doesn't have a push handle. I'd like to know how to remove the brush myself. I know how to remove the components but haven't been able to figure out how to remove the mechanism.

Shark SV736R motorized brush won't rotate

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

The brushes won't turn, and cleaning the filter (as suggested in the owner's manual) doesn't help.

Hi ken wright.
Remove the bottom of the head of the vacuum...remove the roller brush assembly.
Clean the assembly...remove the end caps and clear all hair, strings, etc from the end cap and rotating brush head.
After cleaning the brush head and bearings, lube the bearings with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in 1 oil.
Check your belt condition.
Reassemble and you should be good to go

There is a small magnet in the end of the hose. Under the phillips screw and plastic cover. Mine rusted to bits and stopped tripping the switch. A bit of a super strong hard drive magnet siliconed back in the end of the hose and all was fine.

The cleaning solution stopped coming out of the rotating brush but still comes out of the hand held vacuum hose.

If you can check where the vacuum hose where it is connected their might have dirt in the opening to the rotating brush,or it is glogged, clean with a wire and it will be ok
