LCD problems

My Sony HVR A1J is working properly except the LCD screen. LCD is not lighted and the touchscreen functions are not accurate. When I try to touch a button at the upper part of the screen, another button at the lower part receives the signal. There's only one position when the lcd is working normally and that is when it is turned and folded to the other side. I've tried adjusting the LCD Brightness function and ive also tried the CALIBRATION function but it still doesn't solve the problem.

Is there any part that has to be replaced? If so, how much would it cost me?

P.S.
The camcorder was purchased just 1year and 2months ago, has been handled carefully, no shock, extreme temp, etc. If there is physical damage with any of its parts, what may have caused it?

Thanks. Please help me

i have two cameras: hvra1u and a hvra1n.
1u mechanism damaged in the conductor strip that commands the mechanism for tape transport and eject. the 1n lcd conductor strip doesnt work.lcd dead.
so, decided to create one working camera from these two non-working cameras. the result: one hvr a1n mechanism with an a1u lcd. these cameras are lcd compatible. and there is more: not only changed the lcd strip, no, that is too hard and difficult. i changed all the superior mask, the "half of the camera". this means thah all the lcd-side face is totally comptaible between these cameras.hope this information be usefull for those that have two cameras like me and dare to make this frankie-camera, but believe me, it really works. all the functions, all menus all modes working.
