Question about Behringer Eurolive B212A Speaker

... B212A question

I was told that this powered speaker will only drive another powered speaker. Do you agree? I have a couple of B212 speakers (non-powered), and it would be great if one of these could be powered by the 400-watt amp in the B212A. Are there any accessories/cables, etc. that would allow this?

I play jazz and most places where I perform are relatively small ...

If the B212A does not have the outputs to connect an array of passive speakers, then the answer is no.

I looked at the manual for this speaker...it would be advisable to use only powered speakers in a linked array with these.

If you play in small clubs, then these should be sufficient on their own.

Behringer b212 power keeps shutting off

What a surprise! This is not unusual. If you drive these hard they do tend to shut down. If you are not driving it hard and are not running into clipping there is obviously a fault and it will have to go back to Behringer.

I open my b212a and disconnected the speaker and horn wires and know i have completed my repair i am ready to reconnect and i don't remember which set of wires are the positive side

strictly speaking speaker wires are not 'live' they have a + and - but no electricity flows down them. easy to test. i am assuming the wires do not have connectors on the ends, just bare wires. put the wires into sound system as normal and hold the other ends on the terminals in the speaker, if there is poor or no sound, swap them over. you will definitely know when you have it right.

I have a 1200watt amp that's only providing 300watt output with 8ohm Behringer B212 speakers. Is there a resolution and what would it be?

I'd need to know more about the amp, but don't forget, amps are rated as their max power...
So lets take a 300W/channel stereo amp at 8 ohms.
Ok, it's stereo, so there's 600W
But the amp is capable of 4 ohm loads...well, now you can deliver 600W/channel, for a total of 1200W
In this scenario, your amp is doing exactly what it was designed to do with those speakers.
If you wanted to get the full 1200W out of the amp, you'd have to hook up 2 more speakers in parallel to the ones already there. This drops the impedance to 4 ohms per channel = 600W / channel.
Yes, the power is split among the apeakers...300W per speaker into 4 speakers = 1200W
so any way you look at it, there's your 1200W

The sound keeps dropping out of behringer b212a speakers, I am not running them hard. could it be the mixer?

Make sure your mixer AND these speaakers are ALL powered from the same power source.receptacle for system safety and avoiding ground loops and damage.

Also you should be using balanced lines from your mixer to these.

I recently bought a pair of b212A behringer speakers. when i turn the volume or/and bass past the half way point the clip (red light) begins flashing. Is this a problem and what does this mean

Clipping occurs when an amplifier is pushed to create a signal with more power than its power supply can produce. The red light flashing is warning you that your are overdriving the amplifier located in your speaker cabinets. This can cause damage to your amplifier and or your speakers. You should not allow the volume level to exceed clipping.

I have a set of Behringer B215 passive eurolive speakers rated at 600watts. Both speakers are not working but there is limited sound coming from the horn. I don't think its the speaker but more so...

Check the DC resistance of the speakers. I should not be over 10 ohms. If it is something, probably the speakers are blown.

That 600 Watts is peak and you should use an amp of say 300 Watts a side max to drive this for safety.

You may find a fuse inside, but not likely you would be so lucky... Also if the amplifier failed it could have sent DC current through the units and fried the voice coils of the woofers. The horns often have capacitive coupling and usually will survive.

You can fiond 15 inch replacement speakers on Ebay... HOWEVER get the dimensions as they often vary and may not fit.
