HomeStyles water cooler. How can I make the water temperature cooler?

Check to see if there is a thermostat on the back that can be adjusted with a screw driver, if not it is probably factory set and not adjustable or it is one of those electronic modles without a compressor, there may be a way to set them with instructions in your owners manual. (but probably not)

The temperature control is normally in the inside top of the unit, sometimes at the back, sometimes at the front.

If you are competent with electrics its a fairly easy repair, only 2 wires and the ground. Do not confuse the interior light wires with the thermostat.

Switch off and unplug before starting work

Undo the screw holding the internal light, remove the cover

Knob generally pulls off or may have a small screw under the knob cap, then find how the casing is fixed, remove the casing the thermostat is fixed either with 2 screws or 1 center knut, be careful when removing the capilliary (looks like a thick silver wire) don't damage it you really will not like the smell.

Replace exactly as removed, takes lots of care and patience, use your cellphone to take images for reference if your not certain

Unplug the unit from power

1. Unfasten screws indicated below.

2. Carefully pry the knob off.

3. Slide the dial out of the box.

4. Unfasten the screws with a Phillips screw driver.

5. The thermostat adjustment screw can be modified by, FIRST turning the screw clockwise until it is "finger snug" - DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
THEN turn it counterclockwise 2 total turns.

6. Reassemble. Test for 24 hours. If the temperature is too cold, repeat steps 1-5 and in step 5 turn the screw counterclockwise three total turns instead of two.

Temperature setting is wrong. Stove is about 80 deggrees cooler than what the knob is set at. I am a yooper too.

If you think it is too cool, adjust the thermostat to make it hotter.

To Adjust the Thermostat:
1. Put the Oven Set knob in the OFF position.
2. Press and hold the HOUR INCREASE and the HOUR DECREASE pads at the same time for 5 seconds until the display changes.
3. Immediately, before display changes back, press the HOUR INCREASE or DECREASE pads to increase or decrease the temperature in 5 degree increments. The oven temperature can be increased up to 35°F.hotter or decreased 35°F. cooler.

If the oven adjustment is set cooler than the factory setting a minus sign “–” and the new temperature will appear in the display.

4. Wait several seconds for the control to automatically set and return to its previous setting.

NOTE: This adjustment will not affect the broiling or the self-cleaning temperatures. The adjustment will be retained in memory after a power failure.

To Adjust the Temperature on Models with Only an Oven Set Knob
1. Put the knob in the OFF position.
2. Pull the knob off by pulling straight out.
3. Press and hold the HOTTER or COOLER button for 5 seconds to make the oven 20°F. hotter or 20°F. cooler.
When you are adjusting the thermostat, the following lights will flash indicating where the thermostat will be set when you release the
adjustment button:
OVEN ON indicates the thermostat will be set at the factory setting.
PREHEATED indicates the thermostat will be set 20°F. hotter.
CLEAN indicates the thermostat will be set 20°F. cooler.
4. After you have made the adjustment, replace the knob.

If you have any doubt please go through the manual which is given here

Hope this will help you
Thank you

Frequent short cycles of the Mastercool swamp cooler

Short cycling can also occur in a thermally protected motor if it is overheating. If the other solution did not work, make sure the belt on the motor is not too tight or too loose. A handy person can check the amperage with an amp probe to make sure it is in limits. The adjust the pulley to put it into specs.

The unit has a temperature swing adjustment screw located behind the thermostat plate. If you remove the knob and the face plate you will see it,It can be adjusted there. It may also be the thermostat bulb is going bad or touching something and giving a false signal to the compressor.
