How do you connect a proton d540 amplifier to a Marantz sr45 ?

Why? The Marantz receiver already has an amp and the Proton is an integrated amp. But if you want to use the Proton as a preamp with the Maranyz you could remove the jumpers on the back of the Proton then connect RCA cables from the Proton's Pre Out to the Marantz's Tape In but I really don't see why.

Does a Technics SL-J90 have a preamp?

This player does not have a pre amp. I'l send a link for the service manual, but don't try to change anything.
The element you use, is a MM or a MC (Moving Magnet or moving coil)
The MM gives about 100 times higher voltage, but still less than any modern amplifier can handle. The MC element only gives something between 0,2 and 1 mili volt.
Then if your amplifier does not have a RIAA correction, your preamp should have.
Just google around for MM and MC elements. My guess is you have the original MM element.

What are the RCA plugs for on the dxz855mp

Hi, your head unit has 6 RCA preamp outputs and 2 RCA sub-woofer preamp outputs. These outputs connect to amplifiers if you care to use them. You can read all the specs and download the users manual at the following URL:

How do I connect a Mirage Omni s-10 Sub Woofer and a Parasound Model 2100 Pre Amp to the NAD C372 Amplifier?

You DO realize the preamp is duplicating stuff in the Nad C372, right? This Preamps adds nothing but PHONO connectivity and control. That's why they're called "preamps".

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Model 2100 Picture and article:

Use the Sub Out pair on the Preamp (joined by an RCA Y-cable) for the Sub Input on the sub (duh):

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/preamplifiers/362-a-secrets-preamplifier-and-power-amplifier-review.html?showall=1

Run RCA from the Preamp Main Out to the C372 Aux In to hear any sources attached to the preamp.

Or, if you don't NEED the preamp because you don't have a turntable, ditch the preamp and connect the sub using the speaker outputs on the NADS, according to the manual.

Carver CT-28v Tuner preamp - Has a hum/buzz (soundls like a ground loop) that is heard as soon as the unit is turned on. Does not increase with volume, just stays the same and is continuous. Changing...

Reverse the polarity of the AC plug and try it. Is there a headphone jack on the preamp? Try headphones with the preamp standalone without the amp attached.

Are you sure the preamp is the problem? I assume you also have an amp or you wouldn't hear anything. Power up the amp with nothing but speakers attached. Hum??? It's in the amp. No Hum? Attach just the preamp with no external components. Hum now? It's the CT-28. Turn it off an exercise every switch and knob throughout its range numerous times. Try again. Still humming? Manipulate source selections, Tape Monitor, everything.

Sony Reel to Reel preamp board.

Hi,

Did you ever get your schematic? I recently got the Model 260 and it has the original owner's manual. I could try scanning the page for you, if you still need the info (if you think that would help you).
