Was the oven doing a self clean when the PF occurred? If so the cavity limit probably tripped. Sometimes the owner wants to shut down the process of self clean for whatever reason that also trips the cavity limit. If the oven circuit breaker is weak then their could be a power failure during which the oven was on and that could cause the cavity limit to trip. No lights on panel means the temp inside the oven control panel exceeded normal operating temp and the small inline fuse going into the control panel has melted:
This is what that small fuse looks like. To get to the insides you usually drop the side trim exposing the screws then the controls fold outward.
After a powerbrake the IKEA Whirlpooloven doesn´t work, the display just says STOP and nothing works, not even the light inside the oven. This always happens after a powerbrake and usually I can fix it after some time pressing different buttons but not today. Suggestions?
wshort, As long as you are sure the circuit to the oven is not the problem, such as drop in voltage, here are a couple of suggestions. Number one is that the electronic parts for this model have a five year warranty on them and you may want to call for factory service. Sometimes the connections on the main control board become loose or corroded. Try reseating them and see if the problem stops. If not I would suspect the control board power transformer behind the control board. There are two transformers, one for lights the other for the control board. The control board transformer should have the red and blue wires while the light transformer will have the black and white. The voltage could be dropping out here. Make sure that the wires to the oven terminal block are not loose or burnt. Since you are not receiving any error codes except for PF, Im not suspecting the board itself. Catriver...post back.
