Dear Jesuslovsu,
Please go to control panel --> Sound and Audio device properties and select the check box that says "Place volume icon in the taskbar"
If these controls are greyed out then you might want to install the sound card drivers ones again... The CD might have come along with your computer purchase kit.
If that doesn't resolve the issue then kindly let me know and I would be glad to assist you ahead.
Hope that helps.

Regards,
Srinivas

Hi i changed my sound icon the other day to play a movie through my tv and cant figure out how to change it back to normal, can u please help

- Click on the "Start" button
- Click on "Control Panel"
- With the Control Panel in "Control Panel Home" view please click on "Hardware and Sound"
- Where it says "Sound" in green letters there are three options below that are in blue click on "Manage Audio Devices"
- This will bring up a window labeled "Sound"
- On the "Playback" tab there is listed the sound options available to you. One should read "Speakers HD Audio device)" Click on that.
- There should now be a check mark on that option.
- The Sound should then play through your Speakers

I dont see speaker ikon on the toolbar

Hello...
Full details about sound issue in my website...
www.sureshayyar.110mb.com (Support page)

As an alternative u can do this (i am using this solution till date)

If u cant install the sound driver correctly, just buy a " USB Sound Adaptor" and connect it to the USB port and connect the speaker sound jack to the sound port in this adaptor....u will get back the sound....also keep in mind that u " may " have to disable onboard sound in BIOS, u may also have to make changes in the Control Panel / Sound and Audio Devices / Audio Tab / Sound Playback option... Click the drop down button and select the "USB Audio Devices/Headset"

You can get it in Ebay for $1 to $4 or google it to locate a place near u......

This is the one i am refering to(I bought it in Ebay for 1$)....u can buy something similar also....there are many available mfd from China, just plug and play on your USB port....

If you find this solution useful please leave a feedback and rating to this solution.

Regards....
All the best, my dear friend....

I dont know how to reinstall the speakers into the computer. we had the computer redone.i had someone reinstall my computer from bottom up. so weve had to reinstall every thing including the printer etc...

Assuming that by "reinstall my computer from bottom up", you mean software:

You don't actually "install" speakers. You install a sound device, usually a sound card. Some motherboards have sound capability on them so you don't use a separate card. On the back of your computer you should have 3 to 5 or so, round RCS miniplug connectors. That is where you plug your speakers in. Look at the connectors to see which has a little speaker icon. One's probably for a microphone; one for line output. If you can't tell, the green one is a good guess for speakers.

Then boot the computer (if it isn't already running) and go to Control Panel\System\Hardware\Device Manager\Sound, video and game controllers. See what is there. If there is nothing, you'll need to figure out what kind of sound device you have and get the driver for it. If there is a red mark, that means there's one there but it isn't working. Select and delete it, then close everything, shut down and reboot. Windows may just fix it for you. There's a bunch of other possibilities, so if this doesn't work, document what happens and repost the results and we can go from there.

Cant get any sound from mic!!!!

Go into Play control on your computer. Click on options then properties. Look at your settings for playback and recording. Check play control and your source eg. microphone. To reach this double click on the speaker icon in your toolbar or you can find it under sounds and devices in your control panel.
