You don't say how you are connecting the camera to the PC. The only way to download video in AVI quality is thru the Firewire (IEEE1394) connector. You can download composite video using the A/V connector if your computer does not have a Firewire port, but you will have to have a capture card on the computer to input the video to. In either case, you will need software that facilitates video capture, such as Pinnacle Studio or Roxio EZ DVD Creator. The USB connector is only for downloading still pictures if your computer doesn't have media chip slots.
