SOURCE: paper feed feeds more than 1 sheet at a time

Hello,

he problem you are having is caused by a worm separation pad assembly. This assembly is what separates the paper into individual sheets. It takes about 30 minutes to disassemble the printer and replace the part. Most printer repair shops will do the repair for you but the cost may be a bit much. If you are interested in doing the repair yourself we do stock the part. We can provide the separation assembly and a service manual on CD that gives directions for replacing the parts plus other information about the printer. The part and guide runs $14.95 plus shipping. Let me know if you need one, tech

Take the cartridge out. Flip the release lever on the left side of the printer. Then grab the black plastic shaft above the fuser assembly and turn it with your fingers. The piece of paper should exit. You can turn it either way, it won't hurt the machine as long as you don't force it.

Canon faxphone L80 parts available? paper feed shaft broke in half

The L80 printer guts are very similar to the HP 5L and HP 6L printer (Not well known, but the printing engines on many HP printers are made by Canon). In fact it is almost possible to use a 5L/6L toner cartridge in the L80, but as I recall there was a plastic nub that prevented it from fitting properly. This is probably meant to force the user to buy more expensive Canon toner carts instead of using cheaper generics for the 5L/6L. Try HP PartSurfer and you may be able to locate the part that you need.

Multiple paper feed with 5L

You need a separation pad kit for your machine. The parts are relatively inexpensive. There are 2 ways to accomplish the fix. You can install a separation pad overlay kit which can be done without disassembly which is simply adding a peice of rubber over the existing pad or a complete roller & pad kit which requires disassembly of the machine. The easiest is the overlay however best and longest fix is the full kit replacement. Here's a link to each of the kits off of ebay.

Overlay Kit: (5 minute install) Approx. $10.00

Full Feed Replacement Kit: (30 minute disassembly required) Approx. $25.00

Here's a link to a fre service manual for the machine just in case you get into difficulties:

Hope that helps you. If so please rate me with a FIXYA!
