I want to factory reset my Hp 15-1039wm but i have no disc i was told do from command prompt how do it

First of all, try the following.
Boot the computer normally and log-in.
At the black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.
Select Task Manager.
Click on File and select Run new task.
Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for 'Create this task with administrative privileges' - and click Ok.
When the system restore interface has loaded, pick a restore point at least 48 hours ( or the earliest one available if less than 48 hours ) before the log-on issue first occurred and then proceed with the system restore.
If the above doesn't correct the issue, try running through the procedure detailed in the link below.

I have a Toshiba NB200 and I would hardly shut it down. Yesterday, I was downloading something, which I hardly do, and since I have Norton AntiVirus it said it was ok to download it. But then it started...

Simply this is what you do. When it gets to the black screen press ctrl, alt and del at the same time from the options select start task manager and from there under applications click on new task under that type explorer and press enter. The PC will come on normally shut it down properly and restart the PC.
If after restarting the unit still does the same follow the same procedure to put the unit on then connect to the internet and try to repair your windows.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

My Sony Vaio VGN-NS110D Laptop computer won’t boot up, it cycles through to a black screen with the mouse pointer there which I can move. Apparently this is called the ‘black screen of death’! I can’t do...

Try these 1) Shut down the system 2) Remove the battery 3) Hold down the power button for say 2 minutes 4)Put the battery back 5) Boot the system
If you still hit the black screen with a cursor: 1) Wait for 2 mins at the black screen 2) Just type in your windows password (if you don't have one hit enter) and press enter 3) Wait for another 2-3 mins 4) Hit Alt Ctrl Delete and go to task manager (this time it should take you to the task manager) - fingers crossed LOL 5) Now do new task - explorer.exe
Hopefully you should be back in action.
Note, this is a work around and for a permanent fix either try and clean your system (check for viruses) or reinstall the system. Hope this helps.

Dell Inspiron 1545. When booting to vista the screen goes black. When booting to safe mode the screen works normally.

Please reinstall the Video Driver and check if the same issue persists. If the issue started within last 90 days, you can try the System Restore

Wont display the desk top

Try rebooting, tap F8 to get into the multi-boot options. Scroll down and choose "Last Known Good Configuration" windows should boot up normally. If you have made any hardware changes or if windows perfromed a corrupt update, that will require some additional help.

My dell inspiron 1525 continuously keeps locking up. The screen just freezes up. I am unable to bring up task manager or hit escape. The only thing I can do is shut the power down / bring back up. This is...

Try this steps:

Turn off your laptop.
Power own your laptop then press release the F8 key until this option will popup.

Select Safe Mode.
Wait until Windows succesfully boots up using safe mode.

If you can succesfully log-on on your Safe Mode.

Press Windows Key + R

The run window pops up type MSCONFIG

Click Start Up as show below

Uncheck all check Items and click OK

Reboot your laptop and boot windows in normal mode...

Hope this helps...

Laptop boots then shuts automatically off

If you haven't tried it yet, pull the battery out and try booting from the adaptor only. If it boots normally, then your battery pack may be bad (shorted cell) or the regulator that has the job of charging and monitoring the battery pack while keeping your system running may not be healthy.
If you own any multimeter (at the cost of Chinese DMMs, everyone should own one), check the battery pack for charge. Under normal conditions, they should measure a couple of percent higher than their rating. You will have either Lithium Ion or Nickle metal hydride batteries in the pack so should measure some multiple of the nominal cell voltage of one of those types that are respectively 3.6 & 1.2 volts.

Start up problem.

Does your laptop come with a recovery disc? If so, insert the disc, turn off pc, boot it up from the cd and do a start up repair.  Your OS start up is got corrupted. Don't worry, start up repair won't delete your data, it will only re install the OS start sequence.
Hope this helps.

Computer will not shut down

You can try the Ctl-Alt Del keys to see if you can get the task manager to come up. If you can then try to shut down using that. If not then the only choice you really have is to manually power down and restart. Chances are pretty good Windows will clean up after itself and should boot backup. During the process if you receive any error messages or warnings document them. Windows may also prompt you for a hard drive scan, let it.
