Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

The washer is not completely draining. Sometimes I will take clothes out of the washer and there will be no standing water in the washer. I will go back to wash more clothes a couple of days later and the washer will have standing water in it.

Most likely there is something stuck in the pump, remove the front panel and the pump should be right in front of you. keep towels handy. Also check the little bag coming out of the tub.

Washer fills with water when not in use. Doesn't completely drain and spin cloths, and I get an E10 error code

Hello Lahoma, thank you for your post!
I understand that your Frigidaire washer fills with water, will not drain completely, and is flashing an "E10" error code. The error code stands for your washer fill time is too long. This could be an issue with your water valve, main control, or water pressure. You should check to make sure that your water flow is normal and that your water line is not restricted. This could cause an issue with the way water is distributed within your washer. The water pressure coming into your washer should be at 30 PSI. You can also clear out any false error codes by performing a reset on your washer. In order to reset your washer you need to disconnect power from it for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help resolve your issue I would recommend consulting with a professional technician for a proper diagnosis to be completed. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

Spin cycle not completing

have you lost any garments in the wash lately? there may be one in your pump causing loss of power on the suction. When the machine spins out, have you noticed a marked decrease in time or just the dampness of the clothes? This is what leads me to believe this is a clog in the pump or the hoses to drains

Water doesn't seem to completely drain out at the end of wash. I am finding water standing in washer after clothes are removed.

I would look at the water inlet valve. Sometimes if one of the solenoids is defective it can let some water leak back into the tub if it isn't closing completely. It's not that the water isn't draining completely, it's that additional water is being allowed in. This is a common reason for water being found in the tub after spinning. The solenoids can be checked for continuity using a multimeter. No continuity would indicate a faulty solenoid. See the photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

G.E. washing machine will not drain completely

Hi,
It won't drain
If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns

It spins, but doesn't pump
If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump
If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns
If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

good luck.....

Washer won't drain and clothes stay soaked

Can you give me a model and brand name. Does the washer drain at any time during the wash cycle?
Will it go into a spin at all in any setting? heavy duty, normal and delicate cycle? is water not draining?

Asko D3100 dishwasher wont drain completely

I think I see the problem based on "futureloginn"'s highly rated solution. You have a dishwasher. You need to stop washing clothes in it.
