SOURCE: dishwasher wont finish cycle and just keeps

Hello, welcome to Fixya. What you're describing sounds like a bad control. I would still start by checking your water inlet temperature, the unit must be connected to a "hot" water supply line. If the water at your water supply is indeed hot it shouldn't be an issue, however you can try running the hot water at your sink tap to insure the cold water is out of the lines just before you turn on the dishwasher. If it is what I suspect, the control, this won't make any difference but it's worth a try. If on the other hand the water is good and hot entering the machine, you likely have an issue with the control as I alluded to. repairclinic.com carries them as part # 1102296 at a retail price of $185.65US however, I have a suggestion as to identifying the culprit if you're open to it thus confirming or dismissing the cause...but you may want to call in a pro. Since the issue with your Bosch dishwasher potentially lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. You'll need to access the control for a visual inspection ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is possibly one of the reasons why it runs seemingly forever (unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel"). To inspect and possibly repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit runs & runs ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water. **Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. Replacing the control will certainly remedy the problem. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)** **Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro as I alluded to earlier but with a word of caution, Insure it is one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau to service your machine.** Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. I will look for your reply. Please do reply either way, I've found after answering many of these questions I'm left wondering if the info was of any use to those asking. I don't know if perhaps a pro does get called in those cases and the "fixya" thread gets abandoned but I hope not. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied. Good luck. macmarkus :)

SOURCE: I have run my hot water on my sink until it is hot

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The problem is with the thermostat located inside the front bottom panel that is bad and needs replacement. You can also test the heating element if thermostat tests fine. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Does the drying occur? If the heaters are not working it may need the temp to be high this may stop it moving to the next part of the program ?

Dishwasher takes 3 hours to run through programme

3 hours isn't "extremely" long. If you run a normal cycle, it should run about 2-2:30 hours normally with the drying cycle. Now if it's over 3 hours, that would be a problem. Make sure that when you open the door that there is a lot of steam coming out, because that is the only thing that can extend the cycle is if the dishwasher isn't heating the water. Unfortunately this is a very common issue and it means that your control board inside the door has failed. There is a relay on the board that shorts out. This relay sends power to the heater, so when it fails the dishwasher doesn't wash well and it will run forever trying to heat the water which will never happen.

Try to run the dishwasher on a short cycle like rinse and see if it finishes the cycle.

It is likely the heater or hot water temperature is not reaching the desired level and this could cause the extended wash cycle. Feel water temperature inside dishwasher after some time. If cold then it is the heater not working. Perhaps try without Heat Dry Cycle. That will also extend the cycle if heater is not working well.

see cycle diagrams in the page 2 of this sheet. Gives you and idea how Heater Delay affects cycle times.

I have a candy cdi 3515 and after about 1/2 an hour into the programme it stops and a continuous alarm bleeping starts.

Is there water in the dishwasher when it stops?
Are you able to check if the water is normal temperature or warm/ hot?

Can you try the dishwasher in a short cycle and see if it completes the cycle?

I have the double drawer dishwasher. It is 3 years old. For about 1 year now one of the programmes - the second one along which is for quite dirty crockery and cutlery (programme is about 99 minutes) -...

A few things you could do.

Is this happening with both drawers.

Take a clean damp cloth and wipe the switches and the inside panel.

Get a couple of Finish dishwasher cleaner kits from the local woolworths/ safeway and run each drawer separately with one kit in each. You will have to select at least the 99 minute cycle.
This should help with having cleaner dishes.

Hope this helps. Please rate the solution if you find it helpful.

Ariston and on and on...lol

The water temp thermostat is to blame or the water is not heating.Basically what happens is the washer fills with cold water and starts to wash and heat at the same time.Once the water reaches a certain temperature it moves onto the next stage of the wash program. If the water is not heating or the thermostat is not working the programmer wont get the signal to move on.Hope this helps.

Bosch sgi45e12gb/22 dishwasher won't stop

hey you..I have a whirlpool dishwasher too that would not
stop the wash cycle...it would run for 2-3 hours,
and then run thru the whole wash cycle again!

so..I had a whirlpool factory trained repair man come to
the home. He ran a diagnostic and it was 100% good,
so he called Whirlpool headquarters spoke to them;

said...........every 250 hours the dishwasher will
RE-CALIBRATE itself! running for 4-4 1/2 hours
straight, in order to re-calibrate itself. I was
interupting this by opening the door before it had
run the full 4 -41/2 hours of it's self-maintenance program.

Perhaps that your dishwasher is doing too?
p.s. always make sure you get a repairman that
is factory trained in your specific brand, otherwise
you'll waste $$$ money with a repairman who doesn't
have access to the corporate tech's and direct access
to their parts/inventory.

good luck with your dishwasher!
mine is the whisper quiet with computer control on front
of the door.
