Hi,
It could be a few things that's wrong.
Check that the lens on the CD drive is clean and also make sure that the install disk is clean and free of scratches and then try to reinstall the game again.
There could also be some bad sectors on the drive your trying to install too, to check this right click on the C drive and select "properties", then select "tools" tab, in the tools option check the volume for errors.

Good luck

The file still downloads to a file or temporary file on C drive so it can be installed, try moving the install file to different location on the computer and try to install it again, or re-download the file to a different location on the computer and try again.
If you still get the same error message when trying to install then i would check the drive for errors.

a Data Error (cyclic redundancy check), is usually a problem with the CD, is the CD dirty? you might try cleaning it, (you can pick up a CD cleaning kit at Walmart for $5). Or you might have a problem with your CD drive

Your disc is scratched. That error will come up when it happens. Try to clean your disc. get all the fingerprints off of it.

Unable to copy files from cd

Hi,
Please check with the another disk if the same issue is coming with different disks this is a ODD issue otherwise the disk is faulty as cyclic redundancy means the data could not red from the sector of the disk.
Thanks

Re-installing xp

A cyclic redundancy check (CRC error) is an error checking program that is used to verify data and can be caused by hardware or software. The most common causes are bad CD disk, hard drive or memory. To run diagnostics press and hold the <Fn> key while powering the system on. This will run the Dell Diagnostics. Examine the Windows CD and see if there are any scratches or smudges on the media, try another CD disk if you have one.
