Speedometer quit working - in and out air sensors replaced - repair shop said that was all I needed that would cost too much to repair the speedometer. Is this going to damage my transmission?

This will cause damage as the computer relies on the input and output sensors to shift into the correct gear. what happens is the shifting is delayed or over advanced and will damge ****** and cause overheating of the ****** oil, i would have this repaired. also are they sure both sensors are bad or are they geussing and just replacing both, most of the time its the output sensor and it take no time to replace, these sensors are only 30.00 a peice and are located on top and side of ******, this job should cost about 160.00 to repair , good day.

I have the age old C2100 Moisture issue, and while everyone is saying bang it aboout I know it is the dew sensor is probably clogged, does anyone know where the moisture sensor is on the Sony TR517...

The Dew sensor is located deep within the cameras tape mechanism and will require major disassembly to repair.

Failure of the sensor is usually due to degradation of the carbon film used in its construction.

This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

You can not repair sensors. You can replace them though.
You can also check to see if they are bad. which sensors are you talking about?

    I have a 2001 Lexus gs300 and I need to repair

Buy the sensors and put them on yourself. Buy the aftermarket. They are the same. OEM will cost you about $110 each, Aftermarket $65 each. I work for Bosch and run the line that makes oxygen sensors, there's a lot people don't know about aftermarket and OEM. These can be removed with a 22mm wrench or you buy a special oxygen sensor removal socket/wrench. It's a matter of getting it loose. Run the engine for 1-2 min to warm the exhaust, this helps to loosen the sensors and keeps from stripping the threads. If a shop does this $250-325 depending on shop rates.

    IT IS NOT WORKING

    Run this diagnostic
    Test Procedures
    1. Check if DTC P0110 is set in addition to DTC P0105 or P0106. If DTC P0110 is set, go to next
step. If DTC P0110 is not set, go to step 3 .
    2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor 4-pin connector. Measure resistance between ground
and MAP sensor connector terminal No. 4 (Green wire). If resistance is one ohm or less, replace
MAP sensor. If resistance is more than one ohm, repair open in Green wire between MAP sensor
and ECM connector terminal No. 48. After repairs, clear DTC and verify MAP sensor operation.
    3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect MAP sensor 4-pin connector. Measure resistance between MAP
sensor connector terminals No. 1 and 4 (component side). Resistance should be about 30,000
ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace MAP
sensor. After repairs, clear DTC and verify MAP sensor operation.
    4. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and MAP sensor connector terminal No. 2
(Red wire). Voltage should be about 5 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is
not as specified, repair open in Red wire between ECM connector terminal no. 44 and MAP
sensor connector terminal No. 2. After repairs, clear DTC and verify MAP sensor operation.
    5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM 63-pin connector. Check for continuity between ground and
MAP sensor connector terminal No. 1 (Green wire). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If
continuity exists, repair short to ground in Green wire between MAP sensor and ECM. After
repairs, clear DTC and verify MAP sensor operation.
    6. Reconnect MAP sensor connector and ECM connector. Turn ignition on. Backprobe MAP sensor
connector and measure voltage between ground and MAP sensor connector terminal No. 1 (Green
wire). Voltage should be 0.2-4.5 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not
as specified, replace MAP sensor. After repairs, clear DTC and verify MAP sensor operation.
    7. Check ECM connector for loose or damaged terminals. If problem exists, repair ECM connector.
If problem does not exist, replace MAP. Clear DTC and verify system operation. If problem still
exists, replace ECM. After repairs, clear DTC and verify system operation.

Good luck and hope this helps. If the car does not start diconnect the MAP sensor to get you to the parts store if you need it to get you there.

Nox sensor. What is it? How much does it cost to repair?

Well, it could be either and oxygen sensor or a knock sensor.

Oxygen sensor monitors O2 levels in the exhaust.

The knock sensor listens for engine pinging and adjusts the timing as needed.

Prices vary on repair. I would recommend having the owner of the car either show you something from a repair shop that has the sensor name written, or take the car to a parts store that offers free code scanning and see what comes up.
