SOURCE: Needle doesn't move the problem isn't the foot pedal

Same problem with my 400. I took it in to dealer and they said main computer board on my machine would have to be replaced. Fortunately, they agreed to get it fixed for me. My machine is 2 years old. How old is yours? I wonder if this could be a manufacturer defect on the machine? Maybe this needs to be addressed with Viking Husqvarna Corporate.

SOURCE: freesia 415 - bobbin thread is jamming up will

1. Put in a new needle
2. Take the thread off the top of your machine and rethread the top. Make sure the presser foot is in the up positon when you thread your machine because that is when the tensions discs separate so your thread gets deep into the unit where it belongs. The tension dial (the small dial) should be on 4 or 5.
3. Inspect the bobbin area. Do you see the thread laying across the bobbin itself? You should alway see the thread laying across the bobbin in that model. That tells you that you've threaded the bobbin case correctly. The thread must be pulled into the metal guide of the bobbin case, from approximately the 6 O'clock postion to the 7 O'clock position.
4Never turn the handwheel away from you with the 415. You'll notice that the take up lever is of a more open design. If you turn the handwheel backwards (away from you) the thread will jump out of the lever and jamming will result.

SOURCE: foot pedal doesn't work

You may need a new foot pedal. Find a small applicance repair shop and ask them if they can test the pedal. Take the machine with you.

SOURCE: My Viking 5710 starts to sew without any pressure on foot pedal

Mine does the exact same thing. I think the problem might lie in the cord to the foot pedal. The cord packs into the foot pedal for storage, which forces the cord to to remain bent during storage. I believe the wires in mind became damaged and broken so I took it apart and reconnected the wires at the spot where the connector meets with the wires. But I still don't leave it plugged in if I'm not using it, it could be a fire hazard.

What button do you press on the 415 to make the darning stitch work, all the manuals I have looked at have a typo that has hit a blank button

Hello
Darning is accomplished with the straight stitch in combination with the reverse button and the 'STOP' button. Reverse button is first on the left on display (looks like a fish hook) and the one used to sew backwards. The 'STOP' button is third from the left on the display.

Th e instructions are on page 37 or attached manual online

Happy Darning!

Need to know the light bulb number for a Fressia 415

For the Husqvarna Viking Freesia 415 sewing machine you need the small, push-in type. Here's the specifics:

Light Bulb, 12V 5W #979603-001

Here's a link to a site that has a pic of bulb and also sells them:

Husqvarna 415 Power cord

Draw a picture of what the receptacle looks like and go to Radio Shack or any sewing machine repair shop. They should be able to get one for you.
