Question about Computers & Internet
I am having a hard time with hooking up dsl I have a router Belkin and a laptop there only thing is, my laptop had cracked screen it's outta whack it also has a wifi adapter dis function. If I could get this fixed I could connect but am unable to at this time. I have ipad is there a way to connect with it?
Can you connect screen I see in right side of your photo to vga output on laptop and use FN + F5 to switch windows output to secondary VGA device. IPad should connect to Wi Fi but not to Laptop.
Is the router wi fi if it is not plug laptop into ethernet port via cat5 ethernet cable . Do you have a DSL modem you need one to hook up DSL and then Ethernet cable to Router. Also DSL filters are needed on Phones or faxes .

SOURCE: How do I connect this router?
You will need at least two ethernet cables like the one that is currently connecting yur PC to your Comcast Modem. Use one cable to connect between your pc and any of the ports labled 1, 2, 3, or 4 on the router. Another ethernet cable should be connected between the modem and the port labeled WAN on the router. Then (if you havent already), turn off the power to all three, the modem, the router, and the pc. then, turn on the power to just the modem and wait until the lights on the front of it stablize (usually about 60 to 120 seconds). Then turn on the router and wait another 60 seconds. Finally, boot up the computer. You should be able to connect to the internet. the next step will be to set up the wireless part of the router.

The DSi only works with WEP encryption. The 2Wire and most other newer routers use WPA encryption.
Simply logon to your router with a web browser. The default IP for it is 10.1.1.138 but it might be different, just check the manual or internet for the IP. Go to "Home Network" then "Advanced Settings" and change the security from WPA to WEP and save.
Hope that helps.

First try connection the Yellow ethernet cable from the rca modem to your computer's network connection. If you get a connection this way, then your modem will work with a ethernet cable. If not, then call Comcast for help. The modem ethernet out to computer port must be connected to the wan line of the router. Then you can connect an ethernet cable from your computer network connection to one of the 4 ports of the router. For wireless connections you must set up the router and wireless adaptor with the same settings to connect. Follow the routers directions.
