First remove cover to access the bulb, pull bulb straight down being careful not to break it. to replace w/new bulb, remove bulb from package, be sure to use a cloth or some type of glove so as not to get oils from your fingers on the new bulb as this will create a hot spot on the new bulb and shorten the life of the bulb. Install the new bulb by inserting into the fixture by gently pushing the bulb into socket.

Hope this helps

SOURCE: my fan and lights do

Hi

In the base of the lamp holder you will see the center contact. It is spring loaded to make contact with the light bulb. Turn off the breaker or unplug the oven, then reach in the lamp holder with a small screwdriver and pry the center contact up a bit. It won't take a lot. Then try a new bulb and see if it works. You might try a heavy duty bulb or one rated for 130V instead of 120V. They probably will last longer.

If your range hood fan does not turn on at all, do the following:

First and foremost, if turning on the switch does not turn on the range hood fan, check that your circuit breaker is turned to "on," and if need be, replace any burned out circuit breaker fuse .

If the above does not work, remove the fasteners (e.g., screws) from the cover of the range hood fan and take off the cover to gain access to the interior thereof, using either a screwdriver or other fastener device that is more appropriate.

As a precaution, use a voltage meter to make sure that the wires connected to the fan are not live (have no power running through them). (You should have disconnected the power to the fan from the circuit breaker long ago, if you haven't done so already.)

Having a clear view of the range hood fan; disconnect any cord from it and remove it, using a screwdriver or other fastener device that is more appropriate. (Most fans do not require the need for dealing with any electrical wires in order to replace a fan motor. In fact, most fan motors simply are inserted into a receptacle within the fan housing and removed just as easily.)

Take the removed range hood fan motor to either a home improvement store or appliance parts store (or even shop online) in order to get the correct range hood fan replacement.

Install the new fan motor replacement just as you saw the old one installed. In almost all instances, this just involves the act of the inserting the fan motor replacement into its designated receptacle within the fan housing.

Finally, put the cover of the range hood fan back into place by securing it with the fasteners (e.g., screws) that originally were removed to provide access for the aforesaid installation.Restore the power, and the range hood fan should then be working normally as it once did.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept this particular suggestion.

My Sirius Range Hood has two lights that take G4 Halogen bulbs. Is there a 115V bulb made for this application or is there something that converts the voltage to 12V?

These Halogen bulbs are inefficient, and run so hot that they often damage the reflector and bulb socket if they are left on too long. Fortunately there is an easy fix for this. At most stores that sell the exact replacement Halogen bulbs (Lowes, Home Depot and others) you will see a selection of LED bulbs on the same display rack that will fit into the same socket the Halogen bulbs use. It is IMPORTANT that you know the code number stamped on the base of your Halogen bulb AND its voltage because some Halogen bulbs are 12 volts and some are 110 volts. If you can't read the labeling on the bulb, look for the wiring diagram usually glued inside the range hood or look in your owner's manual. Once you know your Halogen bulb's code number, look at the packages that the LED replacements come in. There will be a list of Halogen bulb code numbers that the LEDs are meant to replace. The male sockets on these LED replacements will be shaped just like the sockets on your original Halogen bulbs so they will plug in easily. However, just like LEDs bulbs that replace the old incandescent bulbs in your table lamps or ceiling sockets, they have an electronic section included in there base to run the LEDs and it makes the LED bulb slightly longer than the much simpler Halogen bulb. For my stove hood it meant that the bulb would not quite fit into the reflector in the hood. I had to use a Dremel tool to remove a bit of the reflector to get a proper fit. The LED bulb is just as bright but runs SO much cooler and uses so much less electricity that now I can use the range hood as a night light in the kitchen. I never felt safe doing that with the two Halogen bulbs since they ran so hot that they were burning the fixture that held them in the stainless steel hood and were melting the wiring entering the socket base. This upgrade to your range hood is well worth the effort.

What is the wattage for the halogen lights for the hood. There are two lights but they do not list the wattage

As a general rule, the size and shape of the bulb will determine the wattage. Match it up with ones in the store, the value can be slightly higher or lower but it will still work just fine. Halogen bulbs burn out much quicker if you handle them without gloves or tissues. The oil from your fingers will cause them to burn out faster.

What is the wattage for the halogen light for my hood?

Must be no greater than 30 watts. As it is a standard oven bulb I suggest you just remove the current one and bring it to a local hardware store.

Replace halogen bulb

Please see my answer at http://www.fixya.com/support/t9977585-sv168n_36_spagna. I suspect your problem is with a failed transformer, rather than the actual halogen fixtures.

How do you replace the light bulbs? There is a lens cover over the bulb.

This is how to replace the lights on the KitchenAid khlu162m hood. If this is not you hood please give the right make and model # so I can get you the right info.

Replacing the Halogen
lamps:
The hood liner uses 12-volt, 20
watt halogen lamp bulbs.
Before you begin, make sure that
the range hood is turned off and
that the lamps have had sufficient
time to cool.
To replace a halogen lamp:
• Remove 2 screws from the
circular metal trim around the
lamp assembly.
• Pull the trim with the lamp
assembly attached down far
enough so that the lamp can be
pushed out of the socket clips.
• Insert the new lamp into the
socket clips and push the lamp
and trim assembly back up into
the hood.
• Replace the screws.

Good Luck and please rate 4 thumbs up for the free answer.

I'm trying to replace my headlights, and cannot figure out how.

If it is like my s60, you need to change the halogen bulb. The bulb assembly is accessible from under the hood. It is held securely in place by three spring clips. Once these clips are removed, you can pull out the assembly, plug in the new halogen bulb and replace the assembly. Be careful not to touch the halogen bulb with your fingers (oils shorten lifespan).
