First check all of your connections, if still no change then the problem maybe internal.

Hope this helps

Kenwood no sound

If you have a separate 'power' or sub-woofer amp, check that it still has power and did not blow a fuse. Is there an internal selection inside the unit for enabling the internal amp vs an external amp? Some will disable the internal amp using a setup setting, and just provide low level output that is expected to be amplified by an external amp. If it 'forgot' you might have to set it to use the internal amp again. Or vice-versa, depending.

Tv doesnt turn on at all

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. The noise is what gives it away. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.

You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done. It is that sound that gives it away, this is a typical switchmode Power Supply problem.

Everything appears to be working with our microwave except it is not heating or cooking. All other functions appear to be o.k. I am not 100% sure of the model number and I'm not at my house to get that...

To allow us to help you effectively (at no charge), please post a NEW problem to FixYa, and please include your brand name and the full model number from the tag in or on the unit, your symptoms ("runs but no heat"), as well as the answers to these questions:

- When you try to microwave are the inside light, internal cooling fan and turntable all working?

- Is there any unusual noise or is it louder or quieter than normal?

(A loud buzz, hum, or groan is usually a shorted high voltage rectifier diode, but a sound like gurgling into an empty coffee mug is one symptom of a failed magnetron, and yet the mag can be bad without that sound.)

We have a sound clip here of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.

Everything works fine on the unit no problem until

3. If your Nuvi has a FM transmitter, is it selected to "FM" or "Speaker"? The "FM" setting will mute the internal speaker. Setting it to "Speaker" will send sound to the speaker.

if this side of it works then the FM transmitter is faulty

Check that the sound has not been MUTED

plug the earphone into the socket to see if any sound is heard. The socket is also a switch that takes sound from internal speaker to ephone and reverse.
If no sound is hear in either FM or normal mode your unit is faulty and needs repair

No home theater sound

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Sound only comes out of left channel, only dvd player works

I would Initialize Unit back to factory settings by turning off main power switch then hold both 6.1/7.1 surround and direct buttons ( they are next to each other near main power switch) in while turning un main power switch. Hold both buttons until you see all lights light up. Then check functions and setup like you bought it new.
Owners manual also explains how to initialize receiver

Clicks when powered on and off; only faint sound from left and right speakers

You may not be using an active input to test. Try attaching an fm antenna and using the tuner. Sone inputs are set to digial and will not make sound with the analog input. The input selector does turn it on. Saves a step.
