The line from the wall goes to the port the top of the solenoid the 1/4 line from the filter head goes to the front of the solenoid below the port from the water inlet. The ice maker line goes to right of the dual solenoid and the 5/16 to the left.

No water from water dispenser

first check to see if you have water coming in from the water line.shut off water valve, disconnect line at back of unit, turn valve back on making sure it goes into a bucket.if you have water,reconnect.2 possible problems, bad water solonoid valve or froze water line..Sometimes the actual switch sticks but not likely your problem.you would have to check voltage at solonoid valve.if you have water coming in and voltage at solonoid when when you hit the water button, then it is the solonoid.if not, may be frozen internal water line as they run threw the bottom of the freezer .

No water

Try replaceing the water filter, and / or check the water supply for adequit volume and pressure, by disconnecting the water supply line from the back of the refrigerator and run a couple of gallons of water into a bucket just to make sure the line is clear.
If the water supply volume and pressure is good, reconnect the water supply line, install the new water filter and try dispensing water, this should fix it, or check that the water supply silenoid valve for proper operation when dispenser lever is depressed.
GOOD LUCK !

I need to install a new fitting (part # 2196157). That is the fill tube on the ice maker on our whirlpool refrigerator (model number ed2fhgxkt00) The water line is already detached since the threaded part...

Yes that s it. You may have to tug a little to get the old one out as sometimes the foam will try to hold them in a little tight.

One thing to check before you connect your water line. Take a look at the end of the water line for a minute make sure that no water is going to drip out of it. If it does you may as well replace the valve because that is going to plug the tube with ice and possibly damage the ice maker.

Reconnect your water line and flip the ice maker on and the water should start to flow shortly. That s it.

Thanks for asking.

Water line stopped pouring. where is a good place

Remove the toe plate at the bottom of the refrig . Follow the water line about 6 " to the connector . Push in on the white ring while pulling out on the small line . Press the dispensor for water , and see if a steady stream comes out from the line under the refrig . If so , then the water line inside the door is frozen . If not , then the solution , is to replace the dual water inlet valve behind the refrig . This is the piece where the wall water line connects to on the refrig . If the line in the door is frozen , you need to lower the freezer temp , reconnect the connector by pushing the line , back in the coupler . May take several days to thaw . Or , if you have a compressor , you can try blowing the line out , yet still turn down ( warmer ) the freezer temp .
