Make sure the battery connection is solid, if the 12 V collapses at the inverter -> no power. If that is OK, make sure to apply first a known good load, like a light bulb, if that still causes a problem the inverter is broken :-(

How can I access battery equalizer on the Xantrac DR 3624 inverter when I lost the button on the panel?

Is the switch still there? If the switch is still there you might be able to activate it with a pencil eraser or something like that.. If you have lost the switch then you will not be able to equalizer your batteries

Where can I get PCB for my xantrex DR Series power inverter. PCB number is 39cx3yM. I'm in Tanzania.

Officially Xantrex has the position of Note: In order to protect our intellectual property, Xantrex does not release schematics, part lists or wiring diagrams to the public. Xantrex does not sell internal parts to the public. If you need an internal part replaced, your inverter will need to be serviced by an Authorized Service Center or at the Xantrex factory.

So your options are to ship it to an authorized Xantrex repair depot, or reapair it based on electrical knowledge in general

If you decide the latter approach, you have to see if there are any IC's or other semiconductors you can identify. If they are true sine wave inverters- the wave form genesis is what counts- you will have to locate the low frequency oscillator, if it will power up and you have an oscilliscope. you can see if the waveform genesis is a square wave originally, triangle wave or a sine wave. essentially move through the traces to see where the signal goes away. your failure point will be close.

If the original waveform is sine wave, applying class A, AB or B audio amplifier principles should allow you to effect repair.

If the original waveform was square wave or triangle wave- the wave form is shaped by an LC network. Depending on what sized Capacitors and inductors are inside of the cabinet will determine where the sinewave form was achieved. If they are physically small, the waveform was shaped off the Pulse Width modulation circuit, audio amplifier principles should apply in the circuit trace and troubleshooting with the scope.

if they are physically large- the waveform is shaped at the output device(s) Usually an IGBT or power darlington..

If you are working with a modified sine wave inverter, the principles and block diagram is similar to a Class D audio amplifier or a crude AM transmitter with none of the pass filters (oversimplification perhaps)

this ought to be either enough of a start or enough of an outline for you to determine how you want to proceed.

I have a trace inverter DR 1512, I am having a problem with my system, which includes a 5000 watt gen, and solar power. When I am dry docked and have solar, system functions fine, when I lose solar and go...

the solar panel is just to charge your inverter,if it is charging and the inverter is on it will drain the current the solar panel is supplying to the batteries, this makes it look like it is not charging ,so i advice you to switch off you inverter when charging it,get another set of batteries connected to your solar panel then charge both, let them be separated so that the new one is not in use so that when solar is out you can switch to the other set of batteries

Can the input voltage be changed in the field?

Yes you can. Then it would now operate on 12 volts.

My tram 2512 is stuck in waiting for AC mode, ac is clearly reaching the unit, both by shore power and genset. What could the problem be?

If you are referring to a Trace 2412 inverter, which series is it? An SW or a DR series? In either case, if it won't accept generator power, but the AC input indicator is flashing, the problem is most likely the generator output power is off frequency or voltage. Trace inverters will only connect when the AC input is within certain limits. I'd suggest checking the frequency and voltage output of the generator. If it won't connect to shore power, check the voltage from that source. Make the voltage checks at the inverter input terminals.

Trace DR 2412 inverter won't run older front-loading washer

IF your washing machine is a conventional model with a common AC induction motor, waveform isn't the problem. Normal starting current for typical AC induction motors is usually 5 to 7 times the rated running current. Even though that current draw only lasts a fraction of a second, it's marginal for a 2.4 kw inverter's surge capacity. The trick of switching on other small loads (preferably resistive loads like incandescent bulbs) before starting the washer may help. Another area to check is your battery cables and connections The inverter pulls a huge amount of current to produce it's max surge output and even a little resistance in the battery circuit may cause the inverter to trip off. If you've got one of the fancy new electronic controlled washers with a D.C. motor, (so called energy saving or high efficiency models) then the waveform may be an issue and a pure sine wave might be needed.
