Kitchenaid superba side by side Refrigerator

There is water underneath my refrigerator. I took the front panel off the bottom and found a black pan filled with slimy water. It was full, so whenever the door opens and closes, water spills. The pan is only attached on one side. I'm not sure if it broke off, or if it is supposed to be that way. Should I just clean it out? or do I need to call a repairman?

Take it out, wash it, and replace so that it fits
where it was intended and level. use a flashlight
Is your frig level?
there should be no splashing when a door is opened.

"The pan is only attached on one side"
this cannot be the pan must be level and secure.

We have water underneath our freezer and inside on the bottom shelf

You probably have a clogged drain line. Look for a drip pan at the bottom of the fridge; it should have a hose that drains into it. Thaw out the fridge like you did before, but this time use an air compressor, bicycle pump, or whatever and try to force air back up that hose to clear the clog.

If your water filter is located behind the grille at the bottom of the refrigerator the O ring seal is leaking. Happened to me. Get a new one.

Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer or on floor
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.

The drip pan that sits under the freezer side of our Kitchenaid Superba side by side refrigerator is full of nasty looking black water that I wanted to clean out but I can't figure out how to get it out of...

well to take that out ? which isn't normal part of it the drip pan catches water from the fridge / freezer and is caught in the pan while the evaporator generates heat to dry the pan out!! so if you really must remove it then you have to remove the wire in front of it to get it out other wise you just unplug it and reach in there with a brush to clean it

Ice forming bottom of freezer leaking out the door

It is acutually a collector pan for the drain hose. When the refrigerator runs a defrost cycle (about every couple days), that pan collects the water from the ice that is melted and drains it through a hose inside the unit, to a pan under the unit. You will have to pull the back panel off the back of the freezer and melt it with either hot water or a hot blowdryer. Do it until you see the water draining freely into the bottom pan.

Kitchen aid refrigerator superba

hi there,

the drain pan is under the fridge behind the kickplate. the kickplate is the vent-line panel located under the door. it's held on by 2 screws. unscrew the screw and remove the kickplate. the drain pan will slide out. careful, as it's probably pretty full.

CHECK CONDENSOR FAN IN REAR OF UNIT NEAR COMPRESSOR. IF COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING AND UNIT IS COOLING SOME, CONDENSOR FAN IS LIKLY THE PROBLEM. IF THE CONDENSOR FAN DOES NOT RUN THE COILS UNDERNEATH AND THE LOOP THAT RUNS NEAR THE FRONT EDGE OF BOTH DOORS WILL BE HOT.

Drain pan leaking?

there is a drip pan located underneath you ref but most likely your prob is a plugged drain line coming from the freezer. when you ref goes into automatic def the water doesnt run out into the drip pan but instead onto your floor..

you can clean the drain line by removing the rear cover in the freezer compartment and using hot water to thaw the drain below the evap coil.
