Question about Computers & Internet
The other day I had static electricity when I touched the key board ( I felt a slight shock). When I began playing my keyboard, I noticed that my programmed sounds in INT A4 Guitar, and INT A7 Steel Guitar were replaced with a tiny piano sound. When I checked the sounds, they now said: "P1 INITIAL (EXP). I don't know what to do. Note: I have both of these sounds on bank B, which is a PCM Memory Card M512e. but when I try to transfer them back into A4, and A7 respectively, it just says Data Error.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Thinkpad is a laptop. Very few laptops have "removable" sound cards. Sorry, but I think that applies to you. After opening many different Thinkpads (and the new Lenovo versions) I have never seen a separate sound card... the sound chip (usually AC97 standard chip, or Intel) is integrated into the motherboard. Newer laptops often have one or two small PCI card slots, but this is usually occupied by WIFI cards. Never seen a PCI sound card for laptop mini PCI slots either. HOWEVER, there is one solution available to you: There are many old PCMCIA cards with full Sound Blaster or AC97 sound, that provide excellent 32-bit digital sound. Search in an old used PC hardware bin, or buy a new one on line by searching for "PCMCIA sound card". Prices are very low. Good luck, let me know if you find one, please.

SOURCE: sound card
Your laptop should have a sound card built into the board. To make sure, check for three round color coded holes anywhere along the edge of your laptop frame and ports. The Sound output is usually green. The sound in is blue and the mic in is red. If you plug in speakers n the green and don't here music, then check to see your SOUND DRIVERS are installed. If they are not no sound will play. The check for Sound drivers, right-click My Computer, then chose HARDWARE and let it list the components. Any one with a yellow mark needs drivers.
