    Thank you for this information.

May I ask you what is a CCU and what is a MCU ?

  • supinfo Jun 22, 2009

Thank you for this informations, but it does not work.

All the wires are plugged correctly.

When I start the washing machine with Express program, it take water during 10s, after the red led with "30mn" flash, after it take water during 10s another time, after the led flash again, (THREE TIMES) and after only it beep with the F06 error.

Sometimes, if I ask HandWash, it do it correctly. But never with another program.

If there is no solution, i'll remove the CCU board.

Unplugging it sometimes corrects the problem. However, it must be unplugged for SEVERAL minutes.then start it again i think it ll set it ok becuase sometimes it all sets it right.
or
Check the wire harness that goes to all your connectors on the Motor, MCU, and CCU. I have seen a loose wire connector do this F06 error.

If all checks ok, then its like a faulty CCU, check your owners manual, some are covered under warranty for up to 5 yrs.

now check the CCU,MCU and Motor any one of these must be faulty that will only lead to F06 error.

Kenmore Front Load Washer won't complete cycle F06

Have you cleaned your machine lately? They make an in wash boost- it gets rid of the extra suds built up inside the machine that you cant see but your machine detects it and causes faults such as that. Also, there is a small wire on the control board that may need replaced if it keeps kicking the error code.

Tip

I have a Kenmore HE3, with an intermittent F06 error. It seemed like heavier...

This advice is for Kenmore Elite HE and Whirlpool Duet FRONT LOADER washing machines displaying the "F06" error code. The error is an indication a motor speed problem. You will need to check the following:

- Check the wiring harness. Verify all connections between the Drive Motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU).

NOTE: The MCU is a circuit board located in the vicinity of the Drive Motor on the bottom rear of the washer. To access the MCU, you will need to remove the back panel of the washer.

NOTE: The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located behind the wash tub. You will need to remove the top panel to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel will slide back, then lift off.

- Check the Drive Motor. Perform a continuity check of the Drive Motor windings. Remove the connector plug and check across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3. All readings should be approximately 6 ohms. HINT: You can also take this reading by removing connector 2 from the MCU and measuring across pins 1, 2 and 3. If the readings are good, this will also prove the wiring and connector good.

- Check the MCU. The connectors are numbered 1 to 3 (L to R). That is, with the MCU installed, connector 1 is on the bottom, followed by 2 in the middle, and 3 on top.

Connector 1 - is the serial communications link between the MCU and CCU and has three wires. At the opposite end, this will be the 2nd connector from the rear on the left-hand side of the CCU.
Connector 2 - is the link between the MCU and the Drive Motor. Pins 1, 2, and 3 on this connector are the Drive Motor windings. Pins 4 and 5 are for the tachometer.
Connector 3 – is the primary power connector. Pins 1 to 2 should read 120VAC with the door in the locked position. Pin 3 is ground. At the opposite end, this is the 4th connector from the right on the front of the CCU.

NOTE: All the connector pins are numbered R to L.

If your continuity readings are normal for the Drive Motor and you have verified all connectors, replace the MCU.

If any of the Drive Motor windings indicate readings higher that 6 ohms, replace the Drive Motor.

I hope this information is helpful.

I have a 1999 Sear Kenmore front loading washing machine that is making very load banging noises. We have quit using it, and wonder if it's worth spending $110 for a call to see if it's worth...

if it's banging around and very loud in the spin cycle replace it,the spider gear is broke usually from using to much detergent,it eats at the metal and the spider gear falls apart, save your money and get a new washer.

Our Kenmore HE3 washer errors f06 towards the end of the wash cycle, last 25-15minutes. Not every load.

F06 indicates a drive tach error. Remove all connectors, one at a time, from all control boards and replace back in position, being sure they are tight. Most of these faults are caused by poor connections, especially when they are intermittent.
