Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

It may not be possible to do this; it depends on your specific model (hardware) and the nature of the BIOS.
If you are able to do this, it will be done by changing some settings in the BIOS. Your BIOS may not allow you change any of the necessary settings. You need to be aware of the consequences of changing the fsb speed on the other components in your system, including your motherboard (see for example http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/11177-how-to-overclock/ - it's rather old though). You might also do it through special software (eg SetFSB - download [not free] http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/setfsb.html I should warn you the it says "If you are a beginner, do not use this software. This software is for power users only. Use "SetFSB.exe" at your own risk.".

I do not advise increasing your fsb.

Hey, I have a laptop Compaq NC4010. I have a problem with the bios. I press F10 to enter the bios settings. Once I change something in the Bios settings say enable something and go to Save setting and...

Heys for horses, (hay)
I see screen works , that's nice.(no dead CCFLs)
a 2006 PC, long in tooth but has support.(barely)
sure you do, no pc this old runs right (mine do but....)
try a new coin cell, note one lasts this long EVER. 11 years NO.
take the large main battery out and leave it it same answer,
no initial problem stated, let me guess wont boot to.
came with win98./2000/XP
what was yours, (is) OS, XP?
cures: (vast)
  1. ,main battery out, works now, wow.
  2. new $3 CMOS coin cell battery, ? sure.
  3. do the long reset yet, ? battery main out, power pack out, hold power button for 30seconds/
  4. BIOS now works, now. so if OS is borked, hammer the F11 key
  5. to restore THE unstated OS to day 1.
  6. if that fails only HP recovery media is the fix.
all of this STUFF is covered at REAL HP (we are not)

Hi , i have a HP compaq nc4010 notebook and the moment i turn it on it shows me a Power-On Password . What can i do ?

This is known as a BIOS password. If you forgot it, you will probably need to buy a new computer. Check my tip for more details.

If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

Bios update for t5226... intel update will not work.. some people say it is locked by emachines. i am trying to put an e8400 in it, but i don't think that the processor is supported by the older bios...

It isn't the fact of the BIOS, it's the motherboard chipset.
The eMachines T5226 uses an Intel 945G.

This chipset only supports processors with up to a 1066MHz FSB.

Supporting Data:

1) eMachines T5226 specifications;

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T5226

2) List of Intel Chipsets, and more specifically the Pentium 4/Pentium D/Pentium EE chipsets,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4.2FPentium_D.2FPentium_EE_Chipsets

The Intel 945G is the 12th one down, or last in the list.
Looking across to the right, you can see the Intel processors supported, and the maximum FSB support.
(533/800/1066)

The motherboard's BIOS also won't let you overclock the FSB.

The Intel Core 2 8400 has a 1330MHz FSB,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#.22Wolfdale.22_.2845_nm.29

The Intel 945G also won't support Intel processors with the Wolfdale Core.
