Question about HP Compaq 6730s Notebook
This laptop has a switch to turn on bluetooth and WLAN HP simultaneously. But at some point I pressed the button and only one activated and the other not. Now when I press the button one activates and the other doesn't.
E_hudson is correct, but I would like to add that you should make sure that the drivers are fully updated from HP's support website: support.hp.com
Once you've made sure that all Bluetooth AND WiFi drivers and updated you can look in the bottom right corner (system tray) where all the little icons are and hopefully find one when you put the mouse over it that is some sort of HP Connection or Wireless Device Manager.
If you really can't find it in the systray, try looking in the Control Panel for it.

Testimonial: "Thank you but this is not the solution.. Either WLAN or Bluetooth shows as disabled on the Wireless Device Manager, it so as if I disable/enable the hardware."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: ACTIVATE Wireless Link????
On some models check to make
sure that the actual physical "switch" is turned on (if there is one). Usually located in
the front or side of the laptop. Also, make sure your HOLDING the function key while pressing F2, otherwise it won't work. Hope this helps!

Sometimes if you disable the wireless from HP wireless assistance then it will not get enable even if you try to start it from the switch. So first check that the wireless is on from HP wireless assistance. This kind of issue come most of the time when drivers are corrupted or not installed correctly. Please perform the below steps to get the issue resolved. I don?t know the exact OS installed on your laptop, however you can check the link below and click on the appropriate OS and you will get the latest BIOS update and drivers available for your laptop. But perform the below steps first in order. ø Check - wlan autoconfig is enabled under services list (run>services.msc) ø Enable HP wireless assistant. ø Check - wireless card is installed in Device Manager. ø Check whether the computer is able to detect the wireless networks in range to ensure wireless LED is not defective. ø Update wireless driver and BIOS. ø Reseat wireless card Link for updating the drivers and BIOS. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=449878&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=449877&lang=en&cc=us Plz write back with current OS ,if you get any problem in doing above steps.
