Question about Intermec EasyCoder 3400 Thermal Label Printer

Printing wrong length on label

We had been printing on a 6 1/2" x 4" label. We switched to a larger label 13" x 4". However it still only prints the length of the 6 1/2" label.
Is there a switch that needs to be filled either on the back on inside the cover?

    Thanks Don,

No it didn't fix it. The printer drivers are Oracle based and we are not allow to mess with them. What is funny, when you put the 6 1/2 lables in and print out a label that should go onto a 13" label it prints the entire label out. When you put the 13" label back in it only prints up to the 6 1/2" line and stops, the rest of the length in blank.

No, more than likely you just need to change the paper size and definitions within the driver and the application.

P Touch 1880 indicates MAX font size, but prints smaller sized label. If I print one word at a time, it prints in MAX size. If I print two or more words, it prints smaller font. Weird, new problem.

Sounds like you may have a maximum length set that keeps you from printing over a certain length of label and it is adjusting your font size to fit that length. You may need a manual to figure out how to reset the length.

This can depend upon several things -
Does the printer feed the tickets through normally when pressing the feed button?
If it does not, I suggest the ticket has the length and width defined incorrectley.
The othe rissue maybe in the printer detecting the gap bewteen the tickets. To solve this issue , more information is necessary,
can you print a ticket to a file and post it?
Sorry I can`t be of more help

When we open the print option and select the label printer it won't give us the option to print on labels, only on much larger sizes of paper

Hi,

This because you might have kept the larger size catridge so that you wil not be able to print smaller size labels.please change small size catrige so that you can print what size you want.

Thanx

Loftware labels printing off staggered.

Most reasons for this is a slight adjustment problem with page length. You can recalibrate the printer via the menu system, doing it this way will adjust the sensors with new settings

Printing half the vertical, no matter what size label in use.

Some drivers adjust the length of the print area, regardless of the length of the label. Do calibrate the label and also verifies that the margins are zero.

Symptoms addressed by this solution include
  • Prints, then skips a label
  • Print is overlapping onto next label
  • Paper out error is occurring
  • Print position is drifting up and down on the labels
  • Labels stopping in random locations

Mis align printout

hi, its hard to say but.... does it feed ok or skip labels??? if it skips labels, the sensor will need replacement or adjustment, also download the latest drivers, and if your driver or software gives u the option, play around with the magnification settings, also double check length, borders etc, try making the label length setting appear longer , shorter etc. Hope this is of help to you,M,

Label Printing

Forward length matters in Label size detection. Width is just secondary. Length should be same for both. Else no, you have to had separate roll for each label size.

If the labels are same in length then there might be achance using Label Software that supports your printer.
