Question about Maytag Atlantis MDG6400AW Gas Dryer
My gas dryer seems to work the first time you set the timer and do a load of clothes, but then will not work after that 1 load. Maybe 12 hours later you can do a second load. It's like it needs to cool down and not run for a long time before next load. The timer will not even move around and work after that first load in the '' More Dry, Permenant Press, and Air Fluff'' settings.
You can run a second load, the timer will not move but the dryer will run forever and no heat. If I move the timer manually really slow and get lucky, I once in a while can catch the spot that turns on the heat and the dryer will heat up for a short time, but the timer will not move, the heat cycle finishes, and then won't move anymore so the load of clothes will not finish drying.
Is there a part that allows the timer to run properly ? like a control unit that allows the timer to move ?
I repalced the timer, but same problem with new timer. I returned the timer, got another one, and it does same thing, so 3 timers don't seem to be bad. The timer will only work once no matter which timer I tried, timer moves and runs, but after one load thats it until later in the day. Later in the day it's like the machine has had enough of a break, and it will run again for 1 load. If I set the timer to just run like for 60 minuites, the timer will move in that mode, but no heat. If I set the timer to Permenant press, or delicate, or '' More Dry'' modes the timer does not move after the first load is done.
Your suggestions will be appreciated.
Try this look at the door switch and see if it is loose if it is tighten it, if not check the wires on the button that starts the dry cycle, if it's loose replace it, if that don't fix it post again and I will answer if it is still not locked.
