Asus eee pc 900ha master password hard drive locked

an actual hard drive lock? Those are a bummer, a new harddrive is the only real way.. not even tech support can help with this, I've been down that road, It sucks. the only real way to fix an actual harddrive lock is to remove a chip from the harddrive and solder a new one one. that being said, i had to replace with a new one. with that sector of the HDD locked, not even booting into a bootable CD(like linux) will help, the harddrive will not be dectable.

When I turn on my computer it will lock up on the compaq loading page where it tells me which Function buttons to push to do certain things but it gets locked there and won't let me go past it. When it...

I,m sorry to say....your harddrive may have bad thing to try is a chkdisc command,to see if you can repair the hdd.....
If you have access to another computer, put your hdd in a external, and virus scan it,whilst your there,it may be a good idea to see if you can retreive you pics from there and then do a format...if your other computer doesn,t recogize it then it may be to late..
It may be time for a new hdd....
but even if you can,t retreive you pics but you can format your harddrive ..don,t worry as much, because even if you do a fresh install on the same hdd...there are programs out there that can still retreive your lost pics....even if they have been wiped..maybe not all of them but a good few....i,ve done this on other customers computers..

Hope this help,if so please rate this,as i,ve taken the time to answer your question...if i can be of any more help..

Try resetting the BIOS, see if the drive re-detects
  1. Boot to BIOS F2
  2. turn on all 3 lock lights (NUMLOCK, CAPSLOCK< SCROLL LOCK)
  3. Press ALT+E, then ALT+F then ALT +B and system will reboot and re-detect drives
  4. If HDD is not detected, reseat data and power cable connections, try again
  5. if still no go, then HDD has likely failed

Usually that means something is wrong with the Harddrive. Unplug the HDD and turn the console on. If it boots up like normal it means your HDD (harddrive) is bad, and needs to be formatted or replaced.
If it still has the error with no HDD connected, you may wish to call Microsoft.

1. Extract the HDD 2. Put it in any HDD USB case. Buy it in the nearest PC shop - 20 bucks worth 3. Connect the case with HDD to another PC and format it. 4. Put HDD back to laptop.
There are no another way to blank HDD. Cheers.
