I have 2 cobras 29 radio always worked good till recently. Have a rk56 mic I can hear but can't talk. Mic keys up but they hear nothing bought a new 29 chrome digital read out and a new mic just a wood...

If you are saying that you put out a signal but they can't hear your voice, the battery in your microphone is dead or the 9 volt battery clip that plugs onto the battery may be broken. Try the battery first since a new battery should make the light come on and your voice to modulate your signal so people can hear you. :-) Mr. 44

I need to wire a silver salute mic to a cobra 142 gtl 5 pin what color wire goes towhat mic pin

dont go by colors.. go by what wires are on the switch and mic element.. mics can be rewired and no one told you the colors could have changed FYI..

Pin #1 ~ Audio
Pin #2 ~ Shield
Pin #3 ~ Receive
Pin #4 ~ Switch Wire
Pin #5 ~ Transmit

always go by connections not color of the wire. that way you learn and you can do any mic. to any radio.

I pulled u uhf out of my vehicle and replaced it with a pro 520 xl uniden uhf but it won't work.

Check your electrical connections and your antenna set up first. Then if you still have a problem, check your mic/mic plug. Lastly, check your programming. If you have ignition sense programmed into the radio you will need to wire it accordingly, so it will sense the ignition of the vehicle.

Best regards.

Trying to determine the cause of intermittent signal from microphone on a vx 4600 radio

Yes, short or lack of a good ground. It could also be the cord attached to the mic. The mic itself should provide the needed feedback to the radio that a mic is plugged in. Do you have anything connected to the accessory jack in the back of the radio? That can cause the same issue.

Sounds like you have an antenna problem on the UHF side.

Noise comes from the cordless microphones when the battery is getting flat. Is there an indicator which can tell me when the battery is about to get flat? I am using an MR-801 a system. How do I avoid this...

Hi, the noise is the sign that the battery is gong flat, that's how the mic was done. When it goes flat,it makes some kind of disturbed sound for you to know that the battery needs to be replaced.

It's normal.

Thanks for using fixya....

MY JOB DEPENDS ON THIS!!! SONY DSR PD170 AUDIO PROBLEMS

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

The Sony PD170 is not an everyday equipment, nonetheless, I will assume that on the Sony DSR PD170:
  • the Samson UHF M32 receiver is plugged to Audio 1;
  • boom mic is plugged to Audio 2; (or vice versa) and
  • Both Audio 1 & 2 are using the XLR connectors.
Assuming that your boom mic is a conventional dynamic, on the Audio Control Panel, pls set:
  • INPUT 1 -
  • MIC CH SELECT CH1&CH2
  • INPUT LEVEL MIC
  • +48 OFF
  • INPUT 2 -
  • INPUT LEVEL MIC
  • +48 OFF
This is of course assuming that both the boom mic and the output of the Samson UHF M32 receiver are set to MIC level. In some instances the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires a LINE setting. The only time the +48 is set to ON is when the mic that is used/plug in requires phantom power such as condenser types. If the mic or the Samson UHF M32 receiver requires power then this should be switched ON otherwise, there will be no audio coming in. Though most M32 uses a 9 volts battery.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
