I HAVE CANON LIDE 30 IT DOESNOT WORK IT GIVES ME A MESSAGE THAT THEIR IS NO APPLICATION REGISTERed for this event

The driver is trying to open your chosen 'image edit' (application) software (MS Paint, PhotoShop, Panintshop Pro or whatever), BUT you have uninstalled it, moved it or not chosen one ....

Go into the Control Panel, Scanners & Cameras, choose the LIDE scan driver right click for 'properties', Events tab, Select an Event pull down = 'scan start button' (or whatever) and select (browse to) your image edit package ..

The scanner is not scanning as fast as it says its suppose and we just got it why is this

    Hello

Make sure EPSON Smart Panel is installed.

If you are using Windows XP:
Click the Events tab in your scanner's Properties dialog box and make sure Take no action is not selected. Also, make sure the desired button is selected in the Select an event list box, and Start this program is selected.

For Windows Me, 98, and 2000 users:
Click the Events tab in your scanner's Properties dialog box and make sure the Disable device events check box is clear. Also, make sure the desired button is selected in the Scanner events list box, and the desired application in the Send to this application list is selected.

    For Mac OS X users:

When in Classic mode, the buttons are disabled. Quit Classic mode. Initially, only the user who installed the scanner software can scan using the buttons. Other users must start EPSON Scanner Monitor in the Applications folder before using the buttons for the first time. From then on, pressing a button will automatically start the application assigned to it.

When I push the scan or file button I get a pop up that says "There is no application registered for this event". How do I get it to scan? I have a CanoScan9900f

    Hi tobrien55
You don't have the software necessary for the scanning and probably the driver as well.
    Click on the link below.

    http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=8743

    • Download the Driver
    • Download the Software (Toolbox) . Make sure you select the correct Op system for the tool box
    • Install the driver and the software
    • Try a scan
i am quite sure, you will be successful this time.

    Scanner problem

Hi s2009edwards, double check the USB data cable from the printer to the computer. Power off the printer. Than, unplug the data cable connected to the printer & re-connect it. Follow the data cable to the PC & unplug the cable & re-connect it. Power on the printer & wait until its done making noise. Try scanning again. If it fails to complete & you receive the same error message than buy a new printer data USB cable & replace the old one.

If the HP director software is installed (Which it should be).
You can open HP printer software there should be an HP icon down by the clock. Right click on it once & left click open or launch. If you did not install your HP printer software suggest you do so.

    Good luck!

When i scan the images are black and white not color

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly. If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.
    1. On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)
Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
    2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.
    3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

Selecting a Response to Commands from the Operation Panel
You can specify a response resulting from pressing the <Color Start> or <Black Start> button on the machine. Setting the response with MP Navigator allows you to scan documents easily.
    Important:
With network connection, only MP Navigator can be launched. Configure the settings accordingly.
With USB connection, with Windows XP, the program selection dialog box will be displayed the first time you press the <Color Start> or <Black Start> button on the machine, as shown below. Select 'MP Navigator', select the 'Always use this program for this action' checkbox, and then click 'OK'. By specifying this setting, selecting any scan mode launches MP Navigator, and the selected action will be performed.

    1. Click the Windows 'Start' button, then click 'Control Panel' (Non-Windows XP: click the 'Start' button, then click 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel').

    2. In the resulting window, click 'Printers and Other Hardware', then click (or double-click) 'Scanners and Cameras'.

    3. Right-click the scanner icon for the machine, then click 'Properties'.

    4. On the 'Events' tab, in 'Actions', specify the setting to launch MP Navigator. Specify 'MP Navigator Ver2.1' for 'Select an event' and for all events. (Windows 98/Windows 2000: Select an event in 'Scanner events' and specify 'MP Navigator Ver2.1' for 'Send to this application'.) If the settings are already configured to launch MP Navigator, click 'Cancel' to exit.
    1a2907c.jpg
    Important:
If MP Navigator is not set as the program to launch, you will need to select an application to launch each time you press the <Color Start>/<Black Start> button.

    5. Click 'OK'. Windows 2000 only: Restart your computer.

Setting actions for the <Color Start> and <Black Start> buttons with MP Navigator

MP Navigator enables you to specify the response resulting from pressing the <Color Start> or <Black Start> button on the machine. You can specify the response individually for each event.

    1. On the Windows desktop, double-click 'MP Navigator 2.1'. Alternatively, click '(All) Programs' from the <Start> button on the Windows taskbar, point to 'Canon Utilities', then 'MP Navigator 2.1'. Then click 'MP Navigator 2.1'.
    MP Navigator opens

    2. Click 'Preferences', and specify settings in the Color Button and Black Button tabs to determine the response resulting from pressing the <Color Start> or <Black Start> button on the machine.

    3. Select 'Event', and configure the settings in 'Actions'.
    e1ed3b1.jpg
    4. Click 'OK'. The operation will be performed according to the scan mode settings when you press the <Color Start> or <Black Start> button on the machine

    Color Button/Black Button Tabs

The Color Button and Black Button tabs allow you to configure the following settings. Click 'Color Button' or 'Black Button' to open the corresponding tab. Setting items are identical in both tabs.

The following scan modes are available from the operation panel on the machine:

    5. For the 'Send to this application' option, select ScanGear driver, MP Navigator, or imaging application you would like to use for the scan button event in the list.
