Do I have to replace the color ink cartrigdes in my epson xp-610 printer

Q:

How do I change the ink cartridges?

A:

Do the following:
Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges
Make sure you have your replacement cartridges handy before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones. Caution:

Leave your old cartridges in the printer until you are ready to replace them to prevent the print head nozzles from drying out. Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

  1. Make sure that the CD/DVD tray is not inserted for printing.

  2. Turn on your product.

    • If an ink cartridge is expended, you see a message on the LCD screen. Note which cartridges need to be replaced and press OK . Then select Yes, replace now and press OK .

    • If you are replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the LCD screen, press the left or right arrow buttons, select Setup > OK > Maintenance > OK > Ink Cartridge Replacement > OK . Then press the start_black_icon.jpg start button.

  3. Lift up the scanner unit.

    scanner_unit_open_xp600.jpg

    Caution:

Do not move the print head by hand; otherwise, you may damage your product. Do not touch the flat white cable inside the printer.

  4. Push in the blue tab to unlock the ink cartridge you are replacing. Then lift the bottom of the ink cartridge to remove it.

    ink_cartridge_tab_push_xp600_800.jpg

Warning: If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a doctor right away. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children.

  5. Recap the used ink cartridge using the cap that came with it.

    ink_recap_xp600_800.jpg

Note: Dispose of used cartridges carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.

  6. If you are replacing the Black (BK) ink cartridge, it is recommended that you shake the new cartridge gently four or five times before unwrapping it. You do not need to shake the Photo Black (PBK) cartridge or any of the other color ink cartridges.

    ink_shake_xp600_800.jpg

    Caution:

Do not shake the cartridges after opening the packages, or ink may leak.

  7. Remove the cartridge from the package.

    ink_package_open_xp600_800.jpg

    Caution:

Do not touch the areas shown above. Doing so may prevent normal operation and printing.

  8. Remove the cap from the cartridge and store it in the bag that came with your product for later use.

    ink_cap_remove_store_xp600_800.jpg

Note: Save the cap so you can recap ink cartridges before storing or disposing of them.

    Caution:

Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak.

  9. Insert the ink cartridge head first into the ink cartridge holder. Then press the bottom of the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place.

    ink_cartridge_insert_xp600_800.jpg

  10. Once you replace all the cartridges that need replacing, close the scanner unit.

    ink_cartridge_scanner_unit_lower_xp600.jpg

The product starts priming the ink. This takes a few minutes. When you see a completion message on the LCD screen, ink replacement is complete. Note: If you see an error screen telling you an ink cartridge is installed incorrectly, lift up the scanner unit and press the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place. When you\'re finished, close the scanner unit.

If you remove a low or expended ink cartridge, you cannot re-install and use the cartridge.

Caution:

If you remove an ink cartridge for later use, recap the ink cartridge using the cap that came with it to prevent the ink from drying out and to protect the surrounding area from getting smeared by ink. Store the ink cartridge in the same environment as the product. Do not leave the product with the ink cartridges removed for an extended period of time. Otherwise, ink remaining in the print head nozzles may dry out and you may not be able to print.

Having trouble removing ink cartridge on hp e709n printer

Hello Sandi,

According to the product information you provided in your post, the following information should be able to provide you with the information needed to help you remove and replace the ink cartridges for your printer.

Ink Cartridge Removal Steps:

Keep your printer plugged in and on during this process.

1. Open the cartridge access door. The carriage moves to the center of the product. Wait until the carriage stops moving before proceeding.

Illustration of cartridge access door

2. Each ink cartridge will have plastic tabs located directly in front of them. Press in the tab on the front of one of the cartridges, and then pull it out and up to remove it from its slot. Once you have pressed the tab, you then pull up and out on the cartridge and it should come out easily.

Illustration of process:
c01495178.gif

3. Repeat this step to remove all cartridges from their slots. Remember that each ink cartridge will have to be removed individually if your printer has more than one cartridge.

Replacing the cartridge with the new one:

1. Remove the ink cartridge from the packaging and then remove the protective covering.

2. Hold the ink cartridge in the same position as you removed the old ones. Push in and then down on the new ink cartridge which should lock them into position with the tabs automatically and you will you will usually hear a clicking noise when this is done.

3. Close the cartridge access door. The printer will automatically reposition the cartridge print head assembly for you.

This should complete the process and you should now be able to print. Some printer will ask or recommend that you print a test page so that it can calibrate the desired ink usage, position, darkness, etc. If this appears on your screen just follow the directions as prompted to complete the test page.

I hope this provides you with a bit more clarity for removing and reinstalling your printer ink cartridges. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to ask. Have a good day.

Greetings, I have a Canon Pixma M610 and this problem just started happening. Everytime I replace an ink cartridge, the new ink color doesn't print AT ALL until I run a "deep clean". Then,...

Try removing all ink cartridges and printhead from the printer. Then, look inside the printer with a flashlight. Look into the right side of the printer and see if there is lots of ink gunk. Remove if any and try not to leave ink gunk on other printer parts. Turn printer off when removing ink gunk. Then after you are done cleaning, turn printer on and wait for it to command you to insert printhead. Do that and close cover. Then, insert cartridges when printer asks for them. Hope that helps. -Alex

Replacing ink cartridges

Make sure you have a new ink cartridge or cartridges before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately

after removing the old ones or the ink remaining in the printhead nozzles may dry out.

1 Turn on your printer.

2 Open the printer.

Note: The printhead moves to the cartridge installation position.

3 Press the release tab, and then remove the used ink cartridge or cartridges.

4 Install each ink cartridge. Use two hands to install the black cartridge.

Note: Install the new ink cartridges immediately after removing the protective cap to avoid exposing the ink to air.
5 Close the printer.

The setup guide is on theCD you received with the printer.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Hello, just today my printer (HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer) showed an error saying , "Cartridge Error: Cartridge in the left must be replaced. I put ink on both , just in case that was...

You need to decide upon a suitable replacement. HP recommends using their ink cartridges, but you can also choose to use a cartridge from a different brand. If you have a higher volume of prints, you may even consider refilling old cartridges to cut down on costs.

Remove the old cartridge by removing the main cover. The cartridge carriers will automatically move to the center. Press the top of the carriers to open the plastic lids covering the cartridges. Gently press down on the old cartridge and slide it out.

Install your new HP printer ink cartridge. Remove the blue protective strip from the contacts and place the cartridge in the carriers. Press down gently until the cartridge sits in its position. Replace the carrier lid and main printer cover. Restart the printer and take some test prints.

How to change the ink cartridge in a Canon iP1900 printer please

1•Protect your desk, printer stand or work surface by placing an old newspaper in front of or next to the printer. The newspaper will provide you with a place to work without getting ink anywhere you don't want it. It seems as though no matter how careful or neat you are, a little bit of ink always manages to escape when replacing an ink cartridge.
•2
Prepare the new ink cartridge for installation. Remove the replacement cartridge for your Canon printer from all of its packaging. You may need scissors to remove the heavy wrapper. Leave the protective orange cap or tape in place for now. Set the new cartridge aside on the newspaper.
•3
Remove the old ink cartridge from the Canon printer. With the printer on, open the front door or panel of the printer. Wait a second or two and the ink cartridge holder should move to the opening where it is accessible. If it does not move, shut the door, turn the printer off for a moment, turn it back on and try again. Lift the small lever that secures the ink cartridges within their holder. On most Canon printers, it is colored green and located on the right side of the ink cartridge holder. Gently lift the old ink cartridge out of the printer.
•4
Place the new ink cartridge in the printer. Remove the plastic cap or tape protecting the ink cartridge, being careful not to touch the black and gold "sensor" area of the cartridge. Gently but firmly push the new cartridge into the empty slot left where you removed the old ink cartridge. The label should be facing outward. You should feel the cartridge pop into place. Then push the lever back down that you lifted in Step 3. Close the printer door. Use paper towel or wet wipes to clean any ink from your hands.
