I think there is something that can be done. Firstly looking at the scenario of your problem, then you still have a 40% chance of getting your files and documents back on track. For this solution to be effective, you have to get another computer (laptop or a desktop), then you have to remove your Hard drive from the computer (if you do not know how to do this, then get a computer technician to do this for you). Connect the Hard drive from the laptop to the other computer. Download and install a software called EASUS DATA RECOVERY on the next computer. When you are done installing the Recovery software, use Complete Recovery. After the recovery, select a different destination from the Hard drive you are recovering from (in this case, your hard drive) - When the recovery is done, you are going to be presented with a window containing the lost and found data from your hard drive and you have to carefully choose/ select the data you actually need and then click on save.... what i mean here is that when you recover the data, save it to another Hard drive, then you can save it back to the original Hard drive. Be cautioned that when the data has been recovered, this will include all the viruses and the trash that ever stayed on your hard drive, so be careful when making your selection, you might restore the viruses...This is the only way you can revive your data....Good luck

ON the acer it should have a recovery cd in the D drive, so format C:\ and then run the install in the D:\ drive rescue disk if you don't have a d drive write back and we can see if we can help you recover, as for files and pictures when yo formattheyare gone forever.

How Do I Correct the Error and Recover an Acer Computer hard drive?

In order to correct the hard drive partitions so the recovery program will work, you can use a variety of tools listed below.

1) Active@ KillDisk - Use their free killdisk program to wipe the hard drive clean off all partitions.

2) Ubuntu or another Linux alternative bootdisk. Create a boot disk for the Ubuntu Live CD and boot the computer from it. During the boot process it will ask to "Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer". This is the option you want. Once Ubuntu loads, find the partition editor program under the System, Administration menu..

To delete a partition, right click on the partition that you wish to delete and select "Delete" from the menu. Once you are sure that you've selected the correct partition, and are positive that you have backed up all the files or data that you wish to save from that partition, click the "Apply" button at the top of the Window, and the partition will be deleted.

3) Use the Acer Hard Drive Format Utility, on some versions of Acer computers when you have the option to create Recovery disks, the system creates a hard drive format utility CD as well. Boot from this CD and format the hard drive.
The utility will recreate 1 partition (C: drive), after the partition has been created, you'll be able to reload the HDD with the backup media. The file is an ISO image for CD media only (not compatible with floppy diskettes). Create a CD disc from the ISO image file using a CD writer program on another computer.

Once the hard drive partitions have been deleted by any of the utilities above, you can proceed with rebooting the computer using the Acer System CD and proceeding with the complete recovery of the system.

Hi I Have a 2GB Sony MemoryStick PRODuo and when inserted to the camera it said that there was no space available (when there was), so I deleted them from a computer and when took the MemoryStick out and...

Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

Deleted partition, recovered files but drive is not shown

do u have windows installed?
if u do, go to administrative tools, devise managment, select disk managment, your partition should be listed there, with the format option when u right click on it.
if u dont have windows, u need to get a live cd, you can use linux live cds (puppy for biginers), and use gparted to format the partiton, or if you are not familior with linux, you can use winpe mini cd, it haves hirens boot disk with many tools dedicated for partitioning. gd luck

Deleting or formatting won't make the data in memory card erased permanently.

Those lost pics are still stored on the memory card, it's just invisible or inaccessible. Only the FAT or NFTS table is erased (the information about where those data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors of the hard drive.

So as long as those photos are not overwritten by new pictures, it's highly possible to recover them. And the MOST Effective way is to rely on some format recovery programs.

Try Asoftech Photo Recovery program, which can recover pictures after deeply scanning the memory card to look for lost pics you accidentally deleted or formatted.

Try PC Inspector "Smart Recovery" from the following listing. Select "Intensive" mode from the File/Settings menu. The program may need to run all night in this mode. If this doesn't recover the photos, am afraid then that they're permanently gone.

Note: before the data is recovered, never attempt to put more files to the USB drive. As saving more files may cause original data overwritten. Once overwritten, it's impossible to recover the lost items.

Good luck and best regards!
