Question about Garmin Rino 530HCx 2.1 in. Handheld GPS Receiver
Battery is totally dead and i was told that it can be jump started just enough to give some power and it will then accept a charge with the Garmin charger ??

Try a hard reset....with power off hold enter button and page button while turning on unit ....this should reset to factory setup, should now be able to switch out of demo mode

sounds like internal battery is dead, if underwarrenty contact company, if not these batteries are not user changeable u will have to use as is or replace

I had this same problem with my Rino 530. I searched google with no luck. As I was on the phone with Garmin, I put side pressure on the adapter (that plugs into the clip, which clips to the battery) and the red light would stay on. They said I needed a new wall charger and clip. So in the mean time I wrapped electrical tape around the adapter to keep pressure on it. Charges great now. Hope this helps!
