Extra piece of paper cut

Our thermal printer cuts a 1 1/2 inch piece of paper before it prints the receipt. A piece we end up throwing away off each receipt.

SOURCE: an extra cut about 1 inch after the invoice is printed

I am having a problem where the windows test page prints fine up to a point then it cuts the test page and does not finish printing to the part where it tells you this is the end of the test page. I am also using restaurant pro and was trying to fix the problem where it does not print the scanner bar at the end of the receipt. the rest prints fine all it put is the on hold and table number where the bar code should be any suggestions?

Why my printer is not able to cut recipt

Cutter blade may have some receipt paper jamming its movement. It is not a very powerful motor and easily jammed. Open the top and look closely for little cut pieces of paper. Clear out all the pieces and try to blow it out with canned air. Reboot system and check printer settings to make sure cutting function is set. Give it a try.

Hi Thompson,

just spotted your post. you failed to mention what receipt printer you are using. the problem is not in rpe/cre, but in your driver setup. Get back to me on your printer model and I may be able to help you.

Receipt Tape Cutting Issue... One of our register

Hi Alice,

The problem is not in RPE, it is in the Printer configuration. Without knowing your printer make and model, can't give you a better answer.

Sharp XEA22S cash register....will it work without paper....we don't have any thermal paper and the cash drawer will not operate

No it will not. If you have bond (non thermal paper) it will work with that but you will not see any printing on the receipt. If you are still stuck, cut a piece of A4 paper to the width of the printer. Insert it in the printer and press CLEAR (CL). Once the machine accepts it, turn the receipt off and you can operate it without printing. Remember, you can't print end of day reports though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The star tsp700II receipt printer I have was working great and then one day it started feeding paper before each receipt. So it wastes about 6inches of paper on every receipt. I cannot figure out what...

Our Star TSP700II leaves about 1/4 inch of unused paper on the roll when the error light comes on and the printer stops printing. Is there any way we can make an adjustment so that we're not wasting so much paper?

Extra Long Receipts

we have Star TSP 700II and it is doing the same. not just 4inches but sometimes it adds extra 20-30 inches blank space. I think it was due to incorrect paper size settings.
Why dont you to go printer properties->Device settings and change the Friction size..as well as set Pagecut to Partial.
Also change preferences under Properties, advanced and change papersize to what suits you .
pl let me know what happens soon

Paper advances only 1 inch, cuts, no printing

I have problems with USB docket printers with certain packages how I get around it is I share the usb printer as a network share then I issue this command on the command line
NET USE \\COMPUTER_NAME\SHARE_NAME COMX:
where X is an unused comport. I then install the printer as a standard serial printer in the software package. I have had particular trouble with that model of printer and its solved for me in the past. Another note is if the computer is not on a network you can install a 1394 dummy connection that way the network is still accessible. Comment if you need help on that.
Dont forget to rate me!
Cheers!
